Sprint PCS Denial of promised services and discounts for renewal of contract Ripoff Reston Virginia
On June 16th, 2006 I contacted Sprint PCS to see what they had to offer me in order to keep me as a consumer as my contract was up for renewal in a few weeks. I spoke to a customer service rep that made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
The offer that I accepted is as follows:
1) $150.00 discount per new phone on my account (I have 2)
2) 20% off my total bill for the entire 2 year contract
3) Free Nights and Weekends starting at 6pm
4) 3000 anytime minutes for 149.00 per month
5) $100 off my next months bill for each phone on my service.
My Sprint Bill has not reflected the promised 20% discount or the free N&W starting at 6pm.
I have spent at least 3 hours of my time on 3 seperate occasions with Sprint PCS customer service reps, each of which verbally assured me that they would correct the problem and that I wouldn't have to call them in reference to this matter in the future. Now, I'm being told that they have no records of what I was promised. At one point I asked the last rep that I spoke to if this happen alot and she said "YES".
So here I am 3 months into my new 24 month contract with an out of pocket expense exceeding $500 after rebates on 2 propriatary Sprint Phones and they are refusing to honor the verbal aggreement that kept me with sprint in the first place.
Also, I noticed on my bills that I was being charged an additional $9.99 for something described on the bill as "messages" when I asked about that on my first and second call to Sprint PCS Customer service, I was told that I should have responded to the text message with the word "cancel" but because I did nothing I was responsible for paying that charge as well. The Kicker is , I never signed up for that "messages" service and was signed up without my knowledge. When I asked the rep about this she said she would take those charges off because it has happened to lots of people.
