Star Capital Securities Fraudulant Claim of sweepstakes winnings St. Charles Missouri
I received a check for $4875 from Star Capital Securities, Inc with a letter stating that I had won the $125,000 North American Shoppers Sweepstakes. While the check looked legitimate, I contacted Premier Bank to inquire about the check. They informed me that this was a scam and the only thing real about the check was the name of the bank. They informed me that there was no such company and no such account at their bank.
People - don't let yourselves become victim to this type of crime. Check into these things before you get yourself into trouble. Money like this doesn't usually drop out of the sky into your hands.
There has to be something we can do to stop this. I thought mail fraud was against the law regardless of where the solicitation comes from.
