Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been in the travel business for over 40 years and have never had such a bad experience as with this company. Feb 2011 my company booked a European Tour for 50 people/25 rooms. I sent SunnyLand  the itinerary and told them the group would need two comps. In March 2011, they sent me a contract with the price pp but with only 1 comp.I called them about the other comp and was told it was ok and I would have to send them $7500.00 by 4/4/11. After several calls asking to have it in writing,  I received another contract on7/21 (also wrong) Finally on 7/27 received a contract stating 2 comps.

Shortly after 2nd deposit was paid the group lost 2 people but still had 25 rooms. I was told the group would still be charged the 50% cancellation fee. From that time until when the final payment was due on 3/12/12, the Euro had dropped considerably but we were told there would be no refund as the trip was priced in US funds. One train segment was incorrectly booked in bedrooms instead of the coach seats requested. Again there was no refund allowed for the diffence in the cost of the train.

After many calls to find out the balance on 3/14/12, I received a phone call with the amount & since it was late  I would have to overnight it that day. Group leader called to say some train tickets were wrong & had to be reissued. After the group departed on 5/7 I realized I overpaid. I was charged an extra $1.65 pp to mail the docs.(this was already in the contract but charged again)I was told I never signed the revised contract (no where indicated on there to sign & return) so I was not entitled to 2nd comp but would be refunded the mailing fee. Not recieved as of this date.

Summary of Rebuttal from Sunny Land Tours

Mr. Sinkay, a Travel Agent  was quoted a rate for a group Tour to Europe with specific tour features and conditions.

Our invoice outlined the tour price provide with  One Free Membership for the Tour Leader.

After we sent deposits to the European Contractor, Mr. Sinkay, the booking agent requested a second free membership.

I advised him to submit the request in writing to forward to our European contractor, and find out if it is possible.

Mr. Sinkay did not submit this request.

The touring services were provided with utmost satisfaction as reported  by our European contractor and the Group Leader.

Mr. Sinkay the booking agent called me while the tour was in progress requesting re-imbursement for a second person free. I advised him this was not possible, since the request was never made to the European contractor, and was never Granted.

We got Only 1 Free Membership from the Service provider.

As a goodwill gesture, Sunny Land Tours offered the Travel Agent a credit value for one free membership  on any new group tour booking within a year.

The Agent's request for additional remuneration over his hefty commission on this tour reservation is totally out of line  and his report is misleading to say the least.

February 2011 I was
contacted by Mr. Gil Sinkay with a specific itinerary for his group of 50 to
Europe, we fine-tuned the itinerary and terms and conditioned and send contract
the contract to the above mentioned person; he accepted and signed off on the
price and the terms related to that contract. Please see below, the terms on
the contract.

Reduction in Space Held:

This arrangement is for 50 passengers.
Between first and second deposit time frames space can be reduced by 10%
with no penalty. After second deposit is received within 90 days
space reduction is allowed up to 10% of space and with a
50% penalty. With final balance final name and rooming list

is due, and further reductions are subject
to 100% penalty.

Shipping cost: Shipping to single address
included. If additional addresses requested for shipping, $20.00, he is due
shipping fee per address required. (we sent two sets of documents) after signing off on the contract with one free,Mr. Sinkay request two free, I sent him a new
contract July 27th with the two free, he never signed and return the revision. His request could not be honored without his signing the new contract.

Before making the final payment he was advised
of the balance with a clear understanding of the payments received by SLT and
the date this payment came in and the balance due.  I extended the payment
date on this tour because of revision of overnight sleeper train and same day
train, Mr. Sinkay was advise that although the sleeper train cost more, there
will not be any credit because the tour leader has added more segments on the
train, therefore the cost even out with the new itinerary. There was no reduction in prices of the tour although there was a decline in the Euro, our original prices was based in US currency not Euro.

The agent called after final payment was sent,
he thought he had overpaid us, I explained to him in writing all the payments
received and clarified in details the penalty for the cancellation of two passengers.

I explained to Mr. Sinkay since he did not
signed and send back the revised contract, I could not offer two free, because
I need that addendum to submit to my supplier and request one more free. Because
of his complaint I spoke to my Supervisor and it was determined for good
customer relationship, we would offer him the value of one the free as a travel
credit, to be used on any new group reservation, he has twelve months to use,
this credit.,    Mr. Sinkay threatened to go to whatever media
possible, if we did not did not give him a cash refund, I have explained we did
not get two free, we only got one free, if he had signed the contract and
return we would have been able to go to our supplier and request another  free. We cannot give to him what we never contracted, however Sunny Land Tours as a reputable company was is still
willing to offer Mr. Sinkay a Travel Credit from Sunny Land valued $3990.00

This credit is good for twelve months to be used towards the booking of another group.
