Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On 2/15/10 we were quoted from Hailey that our upcoming move from NH to TN would cost $.36/lb which was estimated to be $3,806.  We then decided to lighten our load and sold many items which were "heavy" hoping to keep the cost down.  The movers arrived on 4/26 with a larger truck than agreed upon.  They loaded our items and Sal told us we were going to be charged by volume, not actual weight which would cost us $9.500.  I was shocked and saddened as I had gotten rid of so many things based on weight and was now being charged by volume!  I was prepared for a slight variation in cost, but not more than DOUBLE the cost!  They wanted only a bank check and cash waiting for them when they arrived in TN.  For two days as I drove south I made many phone calls trying to figure out where I was going to come up with the additional money and still have enough cash to fulfil the downpayment and money needed for closing on the 28th of April.  This caused a great deal of stress...I felt like I was dealing with extortionists, not movers!  They couldn't get the truck in the driveway so they parked on the street for over five hours causing a safety hazard.  The people who were supposed to help them unload the truck "didn't show up".  They went to the local store and offered to pay $12/hr to anyone who would help.  Three adults and four teenagers agreed, and using our pick up as well as one of their vehicles, they shuttled the boxes from the road to our home.  As a result, many articles were broken and they didn't pay the people hired what they owed them.  To make matters worse, they told them we are the ones who would be paying them!  We found this out because we called several of the adults involved and independent of one another, their stories were identical!  We move into a wonderful small town in TN and have the movers lying about us and our responsibilities...they are the lowest of low!  NO INTEGRITY AT ALL!  I have been trying to get reimbursed $240 as we paid our neighbors actually $350 for their time, realizing it certainly was not their fault they too got ripped off by these trecherous individuals.  We have spoken to Eli, Joey, Vanessa, Brandon, and Paula...nothing.  They say "the check is in the mail", but it never comes.  Vanessa even faxed me a copy of a check which never arrived.  When asked to speak with her supervisor she told me his name was "Tom".  I asked his last name and Vanessa told me she didn't know his last name!  I suggested she should find out his last name...though I doubt Tom was his real first name either!  I DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY!  I intend to file a Small Claims Case...I do have a name, though I don't know if this is an accurate name either...Philip Smith.  Time will tell.  The signature on the bottom of the check that was faxed, though never received is unreadable!  What a surprise! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY...EVER!

While we are never "glad" that someone gets ripped off, we are also not shocked. This person was contacted by our office and given a quote for their move from Monroe to Culleoka and apparently our honest quote was much too high as they recieved a much better quote from Sunshine Van Lines and even after being directed to other websites and explaining the the customer that their price was unrealistic they still made the decision to go with that company. I am really surprised that even though they were "warned" so to speak they have the audacity to go online and slam these companies for ripping them off. Look, it's common sense, if you lie with dogs, you're going to get fleas and I am not trying to add insult to injury but in teh moving industry you get what you pay for and you paid for crap and in return you got crap. Please learn from your mistakes and don't go for the "cheap" way out especially when your moving all of your lifelong and sentimental items.
