My wife and I spent the summer in a rental unit we found on craigslist. We were sorely disappointed with the price of the unit, the quality of the place, and the service we received. After initial correspondence, we were told that the unit had been upgraded and required an additional $200 per month. We were not allowed to inspect the apartment prior to renting. The unit was in such POOR shape - bordering on dangerous - broken tiles, ratty carpet with exposed tackstrip, broken microwave, not to mention the cockroaches and scorpions (seriously). When we complained, we were told that is what to expect ANYWHERE in Las Vegas. Furthermore, we were not allowed to see the utility bills, but paid nearly $400 per month. If you can avoid the scam they are running, more power to you!

I know your telling the truth and thank you for getting it out there! I had dealings with Tamara Leuty recently and she skipped out on paying for her childs acting classes and events she attended. She also took shawdy photos of our clients and when we asked her for payment and to re-shoot this was her reply....

take a listen, this was your landlord! If this helps in any to get the money back she owes you let me know I will turn it over. She is a scammer in this city and a very untruthful human being.
Sorry you had that expeirence maybe we can stop others from dealing with her and getting caught in her SCAMS!!!!

Here is another example of the "CON" Tamara leuty has tried in our country! she is a scammer and theses people had a legitimate compalint on her... She rented a place and charged over the value and refused the deposit!!! Check out who she really is!!! Listen to her video message she left! She is an acoholic and scammer! Now there are more people speaking out!!!! STOP TAMARA LEUTY!

Despite the incorrect and untrue statements posted as a rebuttal by Chris Nelson and Tamara Leuty, I have a complete file of all of the emails that were exchanged regarding the reservation of the unit. When I contacted them concerning the increased price, Ms. Leuty responded as follows:

Additionally, my prior complaint never impugned the cleanliness of the unit - the carpets had been cleaned. There was, however, several broken tiles, exposed tack strip, and ratty carpet (we have pictures). The complaints regarding cockroaches and scorpions were MULTIPLE. These were not the average "follow you home" cockroaches, but bordering on infestation. With two small children at home, they refused to take any action to eliminate the pests - they advised we buy some roach motels. BTW, the deposit (which was to be returned within 14 days), took over 5 weeks to be returned.
Furthermore the purpose of my complaint was not to have "cheaper rent" but, instead, to warn others temporarily relocating to the Vegas area of the scam these individuals are running. When they see a person with minimal knowledge of the area and relatively few options for short term corporate housing, the fangs come out.
We returned to Henderson this summer, and obtained another furnished rental while we await the closing of our new home. We are paying LESS money for a much nicer home, with an incredible landlord.

First of all, Jefferson reserved the rental three months in advance and put the deposit to hold the place. The agreement said $1500 per-month and that is what he agreed to pay and signed the lease and sent it back. He moved in and wrote the check and said they were very happy with the place. Two days later they called me and said that there was ONE dead cockroach and a small scorpion in the condo and I told him that the management had just sprayed the outside for roaches and they usually run inside and die. This common in Vegas. The day he moved in the place was spotless I pay professional cleaners 200.00 to clean every time someone moves out. When he left the unit the carpet was dirt brown with stains from coke or something and pieces of food all over the kitchen floor, they were not clean people. Meanwhile the whole time he lived there he never complained about the price of the unit or the utility bills he never asked to see the bills until he moved out, "weird". I did list the unit after he moved out for a lower price and I think that made him angry. However he decided to complain one month after he moved out. Tamara Leuty and Chris Nelson
