Tanner Transmissions ripoff, quick to get your money, but takes their time to fix it right. Ogden Utah
I took my truck in at the end of June because it acted like the tranny was slipping. Not when towing my boat, but when cruising on the highway and encounter a slight hill. They dropped the tranny and told me it was internal, so it would take a few days. They got it done in 3 days and took over $2500.00 from my warranty company. Needless to say, not only did it still have the same problem, but after a few weeks, it started leaking too.
As requested, I returned it for another look. At that time, I asked the service manager, Bob, how long they would need it and advised him of my urgency to have it fixed before the Labor Day holiday. Bob assured me it would be done within a few days. Two weeks and 9 phone calls later without a return call from them, I went down to the shop personally. On the 3rd visit, I met with Bob.
He advised me that not only did he not have it fixed, but because I was "busting his balls" about it, he planned to take his time. After getting irrate, he even called me on to physically hit him. I informed him of the steps I would take through the BBB and Chamber of Commerce, and he just laughed saying "go ahead" and threatened to call the police for disrupting business.
My families holiday weekend was ruined and I still don't have my truck back. Who knows how long it will take? All I wanted was my tranny fixed and/or a return phone call with some kind of progress. I doubt it will be fixed after all this is over.
