I live in Idaho and needed help with Idaho State Tax Commision as well as the IRS. After I told them where I lived and what I needed help with, Tax Tiger told me "no problem, we can help". AFTER I paid them they told me "we don't work with the state of Idaho". They were rude, misrepresented their services and reamed me out because their phone answering person was aggressive and I reacted to her aggressiveness.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, THEY MISREPRESENT THEMSELVES AND THEN ARE RUDE TO THEIR CLIENTS.

I wish to retaract my assertions that the company did not know "what they are doing," that they "misrepresent themselves," and are "rude to their clients." Moreover, I now believe that th eissue which prompted me to write the report was a simple misunderstanding. Tax Tiger quite probably told me it could not release any wage levies with the State of Idaho and that it could only provide me with general tax advice to assist me in my submission of those documents to the Idaho State Tax Commission. On April 14, 2008 under the name "geeslouise" I posted two additional reports about Tax Tiger. In that report I incorrectly stated that Tax Tiger's representative "was immediately hostile, defensive and ugly" and "aggressive" in telephone conversations with me, that the representative "cussed me out" and that the company lead me to believe that it "would handle everything with the State of Idaho." On April 15, 2008 under the name "jane kay" I posted another report about Tax Tiger. In that report I falsely asserted that I was from Sacramwnto, CA and that I had to call Tax Tiger "all the time," that "they didn't do things on time," and that "i ended up paying irs morethan they said." Each of these statements is untrue. Please remove these three reports from ripoffreport.com. In the alternative, please insert this letter in its entirety as a followup-up report on Tax Tiger. I apologize to Tax Tiger for my part in any misunderstandings that occurred between myself and Tax Tiger/Kathy Hill. I have no need nor desire to create any further anomosity between myself and Tax Tiger in any way. I would like to extend an olive branch and I authorize ripoffreport.com to remove my postings. I wish Tax Tiger much success in their future business and nothing but the best.

Tax Tigers ludicrous assertions are in lowercase. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED during my telephone interactions with them are in UPPERCASE. TAX TIGER SAYS: Mrs. H called us on April 2nd and explained that she owed the State of ID, and currently had a wage levy pending with the State of Idaho, and was told that Tax Tiger does not work with State tax issues outside of CA, but she was given advise on how to obtain a release after filing the delinquent 6 years of Federal and State returns. Mrs. H explained that she knew there would be a Federal tax liability as well, which is why they put off filing the last 6 years of returns, and would need our help with the IRS. Mrs. H retained us to complete 6 years tax returns, establish an installment agreement with the IRS, and ADVISE her how to proceed with the State of ID, regarding the release of levy and establishment of a payment plan. MY RESPONSE: WHILE THERE IS A SMALL MODICUM OF TRUTH IN WHAT TAX TIGER HAS WRITTEN HERE (THE FACT THAT I ACTUALLY DID CALL THEM ON APRIL 2), IT IS MOSTLY BALONEY. NEVER, DURING OUR FIRST CONVERSATION, DID TAX TIGERS REPRESENTATIVE INDICATE THAT THEY DID NOT WORK WITH STATE TAX ISSUES OUTSIDE OF CALIFORNIA. IN FACT IF HE HAD DONE SO, I WOULD HAVE SAID THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND BEEN ON MY WAY. MY MOST PRESSING CONCERN WHEN I CALLED TAX TIGER WAS WITH THE IDAHO STATE TAX COMMISSION, AND IF TAX TIGER COULDNT TAKE CARE OF THAT FOR ME, WHY WOULD I RETAIN THEIR SERVICES? IT WOULD MAKE NO SENSE! FURTHERMORE, THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO OBTAIN A RELEASE, NOR DID THEY TELL ME THAT THEY WOULD ONLY BE ADVISING ME ON HOW TO PROCEED WITH THE STATE OF IDAHO. IN FACT, THEY LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THEY WOULD HANDLE EVERYTHING WITH THE STATE OF IDAHO AS WELL AS THE IRS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TAX TIGER IS REFERRING TO WHEN THEY SAY: Mrs. H explained that she knew there would be a Federal tax liability as well, which is why they put off filing the last 6 years of returns, and would need our help with the IRS. HUH? YES, OF COURSE I KNEW THERE WOULD BE FEDERAL TAX LIABILITY; HOWEVER, THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WHY WE HAD NOT FILED OUR TAX RETURNS. MONEY HAD BEEN SET ASIDE TO PAY THE TAXES. THE REASONS FOR NOT FILING HAD TO DO WITH PERSONAL, HEALTH AND FAMILY ISSUES. Mrs. H failed to ever return any documents to allow us to represent her, and when she did call on 4/4/08 with questions regarding her client package, she asked about an item in the checklist that contained information regarding a State Power of Attorney for CA, at which point all services were explained a 2nd time to her regarding the State of ID, to which she became very abusive to our staff and proceeded to demand to speak with her representative immediately. Because the individual who had helped her was not available on his day off, she demanded to speak with someone else at that moment and would not accept anything less. Mrs. H was placed on hold, but hung up. Mrs. H called back and once again demanded to speak with someone immediately, at which point we offered to have the CEO personally call her back within 30 min to address her concerns, to which she responded even more abusive than before stating that was not acceptable, and inferred that our administrative assistant was being aggressive. For those of you who have had the opportunity to speak with us, know this is preposterous, and I personally encourage anyone to phone our office at any time and see what they think. IN FACT, MY HUSBAND AND I FILLED OUT ALL THE PAPERWORK SENT TO US BY TAX TIGER THE VERY DAY WE RECEIVED IT; HOWEVER, BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I NOTICED THAT THEY HAD NEGLECTED TO SEND THE POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR THE STATE OF IDAHO. THE VERY NEXT MORNING I CALLED TAX TIGER TO ASK ABOUT THE MISSING FORM, AND IT WAS DURING THAT PHONE CONVERSATION THAT THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME: WE DONT DO IDAHO. WHEN SHE GAVE ME THIS INFORMATION I FIGURED THAT PERHAPS SHE WASNT COMPLETELY UP TO SPEED ON WHAT WAS GOING ON (AFTERALL, SHE WAS THE RECEPTIONIST, NOT ONE OF THE PROFESSIONALS), SO I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH ANTHONY (THE GENTLEMAN WITH WHOM I HAD SPOKEN THE DAY BEFORE). THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME THAT ANTHONY WAS OUT UNTIL MONDAY AND I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK TO ANYONE UNTIL THEN. OF COURSE, I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THAT ANSWER MY ISSUE WAS PRESSING AND ANTHONY HAD TOLD ME I WOULD ALWAYS BE ABLE TO GET THROUGH TO SOMEONE. THE RECEPTIONIST KEPT PUTTING ME OFF AND WHEN I PRESSED HER SHE FINALLY (RELUCTANTLY) AGREED TO HAVE KATHY (THE CEO) CALL ME. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE THAT I WAS ABUSIVE WITH EITHER THE RECEPTIONIST OR MS. HILL. WHAT IS TRUE IS THAT SHE (THE RECEPTIONIST) TRIED TO STONEWALL ME AND PUT ME OFF. I THINK SHE WAS OFFENDED THAT I WASN'T WILLING TO TAKE HER WORD ABOUT IDAHO. FURTHERMORE, I DID NOT HANG UP AS ASSERTED BY TAX TIGER. I WAS DISCONNECTED. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS INTENTIONAL OR UNINTENTIONAL ON THE PART OF THE TAX TIGER RECEPTIONIST (THOUGH I COULD TELL BY HER MANNER THAT SHE WAS REALLY, REALLY ANGRY AT ME). I DID CALL BACK (AT LEAST THAT MUCH OF WHAT THEY WROTE IS TRUE!). TAX TIGER SAYS: Kathy Hill, CEO, personally returned Mrs. H's call within 30 minutes to address her concerns and explained our services and the process regarding the IRS and the State issues. Mrs. H became very verbally abusive, and requested a refund, at which point a full refund was issued the same day. I FIND IT HILARIOUS THAT MS. HILL IS ACCUSING ME OF BEING VERBALLY ABUSIVE. IN FACT, FROM THE MOMENT MS. HILL RETURNED MY CALL UNTIL WE HUNG UP I COULD HARDLY GET A WORD IN EDGEWISE. SHE WAS IMMEDIATELY HOSTILE, DEFENSIVE AND UGLY. SHE REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING I HAD TO SAY ABOUT MY EARLIER INTERACTION WITH HER RECEPTIONIST. I TOLD HER THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY, BUT SHE HAD NO INTEREST IN HEARING MY SIDE. AT THAT POINT, I DID ASK FOR A REFUND AS IT WAS APPARENT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HELP ME, PLUS I WAS VERY UNHAPPY WITH THEIR ATTITUDE AND LACK OF RESPECT TOWARD ME AS THEIR CLIENT. WHEN MS. HILL CALLED ME TODAY TO THREATEN ME WITH A LAWSUIT, SHE STARTED THE CONVERSATION WITH: LAST TIME WE SPOKE I COULDNT GET YOU TO CALM DOWN THAT IS SO, SO FUNNY! THE TRUTH IS THAT SHE WAS THE ONE WHO DID ALL THE TALKING, YELLING AND BEING UGLY AND AGGRESSIVE. I LISTENED TO WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY TODAY AND THEN VERY CALMLY SAID THANK YOU VERY MUCH GOODBYE NOW. I WONT PUT UP WITH HER NONSENSE AND I SUSPECT THATS WHY SHE WROTE THE ABSURD THINGS SHE DID IN HER REBUTTAL TO MY ORIGINAL POST. I AM VERY HAPPY THAT TAX TIGER, AND IN PARTICULAR MS. HILL, SHOWED HER TRUE COLORS EARLY ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THEIR CLUTCHES BEFORE ANY REAL DAMAGE WAS DONE. I AM NOW WORKING WITH A COMPANY THAT IS VERY PROFESSIONAL, KIND AND GOOD TO WORK WITH. I AM VERY LUCKY. HAVING TAX TROUBLES IS STRESSFUL ENOUGH, AND WHEN YOU HIRE SOMEONE TO ASSIST YOU AND THEY START THE RELATIONSHIP THE WAY TAX TIGER DID WITH ME, IT IS VERY SAD. IF MY POST TO RIP OFF REPORT CAUSES TAX TIGER TO RE-THINK HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CLIENTS THEN THAT WILL BE A GOOD THING. HOPEFULLY, ANYONE WHO MAY CHOOSE TO WORK WITH TAX TIGER IN THE FUTURE WILL RECEIVE BETTER TREATMENT THAN I DID.

Being as how we at Tax Tiger, Inc. are extremely proud of our reputation in this industry that is so full of misrepresentation, I found this post very disturbing and with many omissions, that I would like to take a moment to address this particular individual's complaint and provide a bit more information of the omitted facts. Mrs. Henry became very verbally abusive, and requested a refund, at which point a full refund was issued the same day. As to deceptive advertising....what advertising was deceptive Mrs. Henry? That we could work with you to resolve your tax liabilities? To Mrs. Henry, you stated that we misrepresented our services, it is clear that you only heard what you wanted to hear, you stated that we took your money, on the contrary, you retained us, abused us, and then fired us, all before even sending your paperwork back to us, and then we refunded your money in full the same day as your complaint. To post something like this without a full explanation of the details and/or conversations, and allow people reading this to ASSUME that somehow we acted unethically or scammed you out of money is just an outright slanderous statement, but we wish you well with the next company that may assist you, it is certainly not our loss. Tax Tiger, Inc. has been in business for over 6 years and has an impeccable record with the Better Business Bureau, and I believe that this is the only post you will find on this website regarding us. We actively post our testimonials and settlements on our website, as well as link to our reports with the BBB.

Threatened with a Lawsuit by CEO of Tax Tiger, Sacramento CA

This is my revised entry based on a phone call I just received from the CEO of Tax Tiger (Cathy). She threatened me with a lawsuit unless I 'revised' of 'removed' my entry on Rip Off Report. So, Cathy, here is my revised entry. I live in Idaho and needed help with Idaho State Tax Commision as well as the IRS. THIS IS A TRUE STATEMENT After I told them where I lived and what I needed help with, Tax Tiger told me "no problem, we can help". THIS IS A TRUE STATEMENT AFTER I paid them they told me "we don't work with the state of Idaho". I PAID THEM $1,000. I CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY TO GET STARTED. THE GENTLEMEN I ORIGINALLY SPOKE WITH (A VERY NICE MAN) WAS OUT OF THE OFFICE. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ELSE WHO COULD HELP ME, AT WHICH POINT THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME THERE WAS NO ONE WHO COULD HELP ME UNTIL MONDAY. I ASKED HER IF I COULD GET THE POWER OF ATTORNEY FORM FOR IDAHO. SHE SAID 'WE DON'T DO IDAHO', WHICH WAS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I HAD BEEN TOLD BY THE MAN I SPOKE WITH THE DAY BEFORE. WHEN I PRESSED HER (THE RECEPTIONIST) SHE SAID SHE WOULD HAVE CATHY, THE CEO, CALL ME BACK THAT DAY. I WAS NOT HAPPY TO NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE I HAD A PRESSING ISSUE THAT NEEDED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. WHEN CATHY CALLED ME BACK, SHE WAS VERY AGGRESSIVE, NASTY AND RUDE (ALL TRUE, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION!). SHE WOULDN'T LET ME SPEAK, NOR LISTEN TO MY SIDE OF THE STORY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE RECEPTIONIST AND WHY I WAS UPSET. SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD REFUND MY $1,000, I SAID FINE (I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY CHECKED TO SEE IF THEY HAVE DONE THAT YET). I FOUND ANOTHER TAX NEGOTIATOR WHO IS MUCH, MUCH, BETTER (IN MY HUMBLE OPINION), AND IS HELPING ME RESOLVE THE ISSUES WITH THE IDAHO STATE TAX COMMISSION AND THE IRS. They were rude, TRUE misrepresented their services TRUE ... SAID THEY COULD HELP ME WITH IDAHO STATE TAX COMMISSION AND THEN AFTER I PAID SAID THEY 'DIDN'T DO IDAHO'. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MISCOMMUNICATION AND NOT AN INTENTIONAL MIS-REPRESENTATION. I DON'T KNOW. and reamed me out because their phone answering person was aggressive and I reacted to her aggressiveness. ABSOLUTELY TRUE. CATHY WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, CUSSED ME OUT AND WOULDN'T LISTEN TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, THEY MISREPRESENT THEMSELVES AND THEN ARE RUDE TO THEIR CLIENTS. THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS MY OPINION. THEY MAY VERY WELL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND PERHAPS WITH OTHER CLIENTS THEY REPRESENT THEMSELVES MORE ACCURATELY. I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT. I ONLY KNOW WHAT MY OWN EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WAS. FINAL NOTE: If you write a negative review of your experience with Tax Tiger you may very well be threatened with a lawsuit, like I was.
