TD bank is the biggestripoff there is.  i helped my father in law refinance his mobile home.  We called several places that would help him, but we decided to go with TD bank.  We asked if they handled mobile home mortgages and they said yes.   So we went throught the process, whereas they have the most ignorant employees I have ever seen. We dealt with a Kimberly Barr for two months, and she is the most ignorant person I hve ever known.  She kept asking for papers and we kept sending them. Several times she said she never got paperwork, which we showed her she did in fact get.  she was rude and obnoxious.  After going through two months worth of pulling paperwork and ordering reports and such, and after charging us $470 for an appraisal, they said they didnt handle mobile homes.

Why charge an elderly man $470 for an appraisal that they should have told us from the beginning they didnt handle mobile homes?

We sked for. Supervisor and emailed Susan.  Never returned a call or emAil.  Stay away from td bank folks.  They will rip you off and then ignore any calls or emils you send

if you get Kimberly Barr, watch yourself.  You will be asked for the same paperwork over and over and be subject to ignorant comments

Getting back the $470

How did you pay the $470?  If it was on any kind of card, dispute it utilizing regulation E as fraud or misrepresentation.  If it was via a bank check or a check that has already cashed, file a small claims court dispute or at least threaten to do so.  The corporate number is: 1-800-462-3666.  The HQ phone is 856.751.2739.  I would definitely call out discrimination against the elderly.  That's agism and if you were verbally informed that a mobile home was able to be financed and they ran his credit diminishing his score and taking $470, he should be entitled to the amount back, punitive damages, and at times judges will even figure out the state interest at the time from the date they accepted the check.

Good Luck!  I worked there years ago and it was a nightmare.  It's the only job I had to sneak out from. I had to close my accounts because everyone who left stated they would go into their checking accounts and deduct monies for time off they took but didn't accrue.  Sure enough, two weeks later I got a bill for $1200.00.  I advised I would sue for the distress they caused me and how I needed to see a therapist.  They folded quicker than a napkin on Thanksgiving.

Have a great holiday and the best to you and your father.  Once it goes through, you may have a hard time finding insurance.  Depending on where you live, you may want to try Assurant.  I work for a different insurance company that doesn't offer mobile home coverage and we are told to suggest them if someone asks.
