Our residential phone bill was charged both last month by the "The Billing Resource" on behalf of "Business to Business Online," a totally unknown company to anyone in my household of two. I called AT&T and asked them to remove the charge, which they gladly did and I expected that they sent notice to "The Billing Resource" to cancel and further charges. However, the charge of $19.95 plus tax appeared again on my current phone bill.

Another "Rip-Off" reporter, Martha from Morganton, North Carolina, reported this same event last month, and we concur with her reprot. However, unlike Martha, who reported having AT&T phone and Internet service, we only have AT&T phone service -- we have Comcast High-Speed Internet service.

I looked up this company on the Internet and it presumably helps individuals or companies to build web pages (again, this is a residence and we do not conduct any type of home-based business whatsoever). Upon calling their number and being on hold for an hour, their phone agent asked whether we signed up for any high-speed internet through "Business to Business Online." I was finally able to get this stopped (hopefully), and they indicated that they would not allow further charges from "Business to Business Online."

I totally concur with Martha's report that consumers are being scammed by "The Billing Resource." I'm not sure what wrongdoing phone service providers have in participating in this scam, but I will be calling them shortly to put a block against any type of extraneous charges to my account without proper authorization.
