Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
The Chubb Institute Springfield Campus is a joke. I have been a student in computer networking and security for almost 6 months. I should have had an idea of what to expect just based on the beginning of my educational experience at this place.

From the hardware lab that consisted of a few working computers. To the instructors that spend classroom time pursuing their outside interests. There is one that tried to recruit my entire class and others for a pyramid like internet business.

We had this guy for 3 months learning A+ hardware, Software, and network plus. The curriculum reminds me of speed dating skimming 1000 page books with a bunch of lecturing (reading from a textbook or powerpoint presentations) with very little hands on instruction which is what was their main selling point during recruitment about how "hands on" the curriculum was.

I would have never signed up for this crap course had i known this was not the case. The place is very unprofessional and disorganized with a department head that all the students know is nowhere near qualified. Her management and people skills are sorely lacking.

I will be returning to school tomorrow to withdraw from this scam school but i feel sorry for my classmates it seems as though they are targeting young gullible people many of which are not retaining any of this information to be able to go out and get a job let alone keep one.

We are presently in an exchange server class that is a joke we have an instructor that believes cramming 3 chapters of information into a powerpoint slide presentation that he rattles off in rapid succession and leaves half the class behind and then acts like it's the student's fault.

he gives us a pool of 120 questions weekly for a 50 question test and when half the class failed he said this just shows me everyone can pass. And u have a class full of kids who don't know any better and are not articulate enough to voice their concerns collectively to get what they are paying 17000 dollars for which is an education. By me being a more mature student (a lot of my classmates are in the 18-25) age range I'm the one they come to and cry and complain about. I'm sorry this post went so long but i havent even told half the story.

No longer a sucker

Let me clear some things up

1st let me clarify a few things, because during the course of my very public rant i spoke out of frustration, when the reality of the matter is I did not try to resolve my issues with the individuals involved nor did i follow the chain of command to discuss my issues with the institution or curriculum, so in effect I really had no reason to post my issues here without first trying to resolve my issues with the parties involved. I now feel horrible because i did not take the time to think about how my reckless post may affect other people involved. I had a meeting with the school president and director of education today, both of whose doors were always open to me thus the reason i feel bad because instead of going off on a childish rant i could have easily met with the staff to discuss my concerns. They have always been highly accessible since i've been attending and have been attentive to my concerns in the past. (Still asking myself why did'nt i just go to them?) Secondly i mentioned my instructor recruiting this was done on our own time not during class time so it was really irrelevant in this conversation. Thirdly I had no business criticizing my department head publicly, again if i had an issue with them i should have tried to deal with it personally and professionally. not in a slanderous personal attack. I have decided to finish out my last 6 months since its already paid for and i really am not looking for a fight, I would prefer to get some marketable skills out of this experience. After thinking about this all weekend and fuming and venting I felt like i threw all these people under the bus without being an adult about the situation. so i guess in closing 1. if u have an issue with curriculum etc. address it with instructor, then dept head, then director of education, and finally school president. This is the chain of command. Speak and your voice will be heard. Say nothing and you deserve to suffer. 2. if the chain of command does'nt resolve the issue or issues then b**** about it on the ripoff report but always follow step one 1st

also i have passed my number to a few of the students any current or former students who were lied to and swindled into signing up for this sham school with their false promises. I would suggest trying to get in touch with me let's go talk to attorney Irv Acklesburg (consumer advocate) and see what we can do about recouping the funds that were stolen from us through this deception. Class Action is the way to go.
