The Field Restaurant The Worest Dining Experience Ever San Diego California
My friends and I went to The Field resturant for brunch/ lunch. Our waitress even though it wasn't busy took her own sweet time attending to our table she was too busy flirting with the male customers.My friend had to send her omolett back three times the cook kept forgetting ingredants. I had to send my eggs back once. I had the steak and eggs the worest cut of meat ever and my potatoes looked rotten. Then came when it was time to pay the check. I gave our waitress a 100.00 bill. She announced that she couldn't take it because it didn't have a line in it.
I asked to see the manager she instead sent a big spanish male cook who said that he refused to take the 100.00. I smiled and said then how will you get paid since i have no other means to pay you. He left and sent the waitress back who said there was a bank down the street that she would vertify the bill and change it. I being quite annoyed suggeted she do whatever she had too. Since my bill was u.s. legal tender i refused to use any other means.
After waiting about 15 minutes she came and announced it was real. I was about to pick up my change and just leave. My friend suggested i check it. The waitress had given me 34.00 on 34.00 meal out of 100.00 ( the fake 100). I had to find her and get the rest of my change. She apolozed but did not apologize for acussing me of being crook, nor did she offer to comp the meal.My friends and i were visiting from out of town , i am not sure if this type of treatment is reserved for out of towners or to discourage people of ethnic desent. Well, which ever it worked. When visiting San Diego i'll never go there again.

The Field is located on 5th Avenue and another Irish Pub is on 4th Avenue The name of that pub is Dublin Square - We do not think the party complaining about there experience was at our pub/restaurant because we do not have Steak and Eggs on our menu and Dublin Square does. We have tried to contact the party which is complaining to figure this all out - but they choose to list it here. Our chef what was working that day is from Ireland - so no way does he fit the description in the complaint. Here at The Field we always take our guest complaints seriously - we like to take care of our guests and make sure they have a good experience at The Field. We would like the party complaining to give us a chance to take care of the matter. Please contact us at 619 232-9840
