RIPOFF REPORT VIP ARBITRATION
SUMMARY OF ARBITRATOR’S DECISION
The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor, Complainant
v.
Author of Report #185194,
________________________________________________________________________
Complainant The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor (the “Complainant”) has challenged the truthfulness of certain specific statements (each, a “Statement”) posted by Author Anonymous (the “Author”) on the Ripoff Report website at www.ripoffreport.com as Ripoff Report #185194 (the “Report”). The Author accused the Complainant, charging too much for the legal services provided. The Complainant denied all such allegations. The Author did not submit a response to the Complainant or any contact information. Therefore, in accordance with the Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration Rules (the “Rules), the Author waived their right to participate in this Arbitration. By submitting a Report and a Complaint on the Ripoff Report websites, both the Complainant and the Author have agreed to submit the dispute to the Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration Program.
In accordance with the Rules, the Arbitrator was asked to decide whether the challenged Statements were an opinion or a fact. If, and only if, the Statement was determined to be a statement of fact, the Arbitrator was asked to further decided if, by a preponderance of the evidence, to determine if the Statement was true or false. If the statement identified by the Complainant is determined to be an opinion, no determination will be made as to that particular Statement because an opinion cannot be determined to be true nor false.
In this case, the Arbitrator had only the evidence submitted by the Complainant to consider. The evidence submitted included Ripoff Report #184195, Complainant’s Arbitration Statement, Complainant’s Witness Statements, and supporting documentation.
Each Statement challenged by the Complainant has been considered, together with any Witness Statements and Documents provided by the Complainant for determination of the truth or falsity of the Statement. The Author did not provide a response to the Complaint.
The Arbitrator determined that the certain statements challenged in the Report were false. Therefore, according to the VIP Arbitration Rules, those statements have been redacted.
Decided December 13, 2013
Bruce E. Meyerson, Arbitrator

Lawrence Taylor Sucks !!!
(The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor, Inc. and duicentral suck too)
If you are considering hiring The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor, Inc. for your legal defense please read this article before you do so. From my personal experience with The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor, Inc. I would strongly recommend you to go elsewhere for your legal defense needs. The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor, Inc. is not worth nearly as much as they charge for their services. The only thing they do well is marketing and sales, the actual legal service they provided me was well below average but they charged me far above average for it.
The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor, Inc. markets their services through their web site: www.duicentral.com and the book Drunk Driving Defense (ISBN 0735511462) published by Aspen Law & Business Publishers and written by Lawrence Taylor. I have not read the book, it may or may not be good.
However, when I hired them I did not get to speak directly to or enjoy the services of Mr. Lawrence Taylor himself and I don't think you will either. ((Statement REDACTED as false pursuant to Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration)). So save your money and go directly to those attorneys who charge about $1,500 for the first DUI. I was hoping to get the best defense possible and was willing to pay for it but got ripped off instead.
At www.duicentral.com you will find all sorts of credentials of Mr. Lawrence Taylor, however keep in mind that it's not Mr. Taylor who will defend you but some other attorney. Mr. Taylor will be just a middleman between you and that attorney. ((Statement REDACTED as false pursuant to Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration)).
((Statement REDACTED as false pursuant to Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration)). ((Statement REDACTED as false pursuant to Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration)).
Most of the time, advice I received from them was directed towards pushing me to except an offer from the prosecution in order to avoid a trial. ((Statement REDACTED as false pursuant to Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration)) so it was in their best interest to finish the case as soon as possible (and to avoid a trial). In their agreement they call it a "true retainer". Even if after reading this you will still decide to hire them don't fall for the "true retainer" and don't pay them a flat fee upfront.
During the last appearance in court on my behalf (which, I was told, was done as a "favor" to me rather than as a normal service, and in order for them to do me this favor I had to raise some noise) their attorney did not properly file a piece of paper and as a result I was later charged $40 to correctly file it. My request to them to reimburse me $40 that I had to pay as a result of their mistake remains unanswered.
During my community service and DUI classes I met many other people who got DUI. Many had similar circumstances to mine or worse. None of them paid nearly as much as I paid to The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor. And none of them got a worse sentence than mine, measured by the period of license suspension plus duration of alcohol program plus days of community service.
I would like to hear from anyone who has used The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor for their legal needs. You may also contact me with any questions or comments.
Thank you,
Nick L.

I used a separate email address to sign up for ripoffreport and I haven't checked it in a while. Just logged in to it and saw a notice of arbitration about this posting. The notice was sent to me in 2013. Anyway, the only reason the artibtrator determined that something was "false" is because I didn't see the notice and didn't send a response. And, of course, because Lawrence Taylor paid him for "arbitration". Anyway, everything is true in my original report. Do not use this company. Just go on craigslist and search for a DUI attorney. You will find one just as good or better for a fraction of the cost. If you hire "Lawrence Taylor" you will never see "Lawrence Taylor", he will give you some attorney that is available on craigslist for a fraction. Everything else in my original report is also true.

After reviewing this complaint dated April 6, 2006, it should be initially noted that an extensive review of our law firm’s records over the past 10 years produced no record of any client with a first name of “Nick” and a last name beginning with “L”. (It should perhaps also be noted that it is a disturbingly common practice for less successful attorneys to anonymously file false “reviews” disparaging their competitors.)
The Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor is nationally-known and considered one of the leading DUI defense firms in the country. Mr. Taylor, a University of California (Berkeley) and UCLA Law School graduate, former Deputy District Attorney and former Fulbright Professor of Law, was the co-founder and served as the first Dean of the 1400-member National College for DUI Defense. He has lectured on drunk driving defense to attorneys at over 200 seminars in 41 states and is the author of the standard textbook used by professionals in the field, “Drunk Driving Defense” (now in its 7th edition after 34 years of publication).
The 5 attorneys in his firm, supported by a staff of law enforcement, blood-alcohol and DMV license suspension experts, average 19 years of criminal defense experience each -- most of that in DUI defense -- and include 2 former prosecutors; 2 of the firm’s former attorneys currently sit on the bench as judges. The qualifications and experience of our attorneys are prominently displayed on our website at http://www.duicentral.com/firm/lawyers/
Contrary to “Nick’s” claim that he was assigned “an average attorney”, the attorneys at the Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor are highly experienced and widely respected in the profession and in the courts. His assertion that such attorneys “charge about $1500” further reflects his ignorance -- or deceit. Only a young, inexperienced attorney or a disreputable “mill” that simply pleads their clients guilty at the first opportunity (called “dump trucks” in the profession) would charge such bargain-basement amounts. As with physicians, the more skilled, experienced and respected attorneys command considerably higher fees.
Perhaps this anonymous gentleman’s claims should be viewed in the context of professional reviews of the Law Offices of Lawrence Taylor:
* “A-V” peer review rated (“Very high to preeminent”) by the Martindale-Hubbell International Directory of Attorneys since 1995
* Award highest rating of 10 (“Superb”) by the Avvo national online lawyer directory
* Voted by over 45,000 attorneys “Southern California Super Lawyers” in Los Angeles magazine every year since 2004
* Listed in Marquis “Who’s Who in American Law” every year since 1989
* Award highest rating (“A+”) by the Better Business Bureau for the past 13 years
* Listed in the prestigious “International Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers” since 1998
