The Nouveau Tech Society Fame, Fortune, Females, Phoohey! Clifton New Jersey
I received my letter today saying I had until this Friday, July 29, 2005 to mail or fax my "invitation." My 8 page novella said I possessed "very special and rare traits" and had been "specially selected" by a secret society of unmentionable, but very powerful, people to receive their booklet revealing instant keys to success "absolutely free." They also said I was "entering (my) second cycle" and I had to return my invitation asap before I got too far into the cycle. A very creative way to create immediacy. It was signed "John Finn" so it looks like they use same gender names (I am a male) to encourage you to send in.
The sender's address was Grove City, Ohio, but the enclosed return address was in New Jersey. As luck would have it, I live near Columbus, Ohio and Grove City is a nearby suburb, so after reading the numerous entries on this site, I decided to do some checking. Not surprisingly, The Nouveau Society is not listed in the local Grove City phone book, nor is it in the Columbus metropolitan area phone book. The address listed on the envelope does not exist.
I was also a little disturbed by the rebuttal made by "Barbie" talking about Illuminati, Sectret Societies and fighting against political or theistic organizations. It's also interesting to note that when I did an internet search for the society, her rebuttal came up before any of the numerous complaints. It all sounds a little too cloak and dagger, and just plain creepy. Stay away from this one!
