The Preserve Resort, Stolen Wedding Ring Honeymoon Pigeon Forge Tennessee
We stayed 4 nights from Aug 26-30, 2006 for our honeymoon at The Preserve Resort in Pigeon Forge, TN. Each night I took off my rings and put them on the kitchen counter. On our last day, we were packing up and I had not yet put on my rings... we were listening to the news reporting hurricane ernesto and getting worried as we were flying out of Charlotte, NC and it was expected to hit there. Check out was 10 am but we left about 9:10 am.. we were headed to Cherokee on our way to Charlotte..
a half hour into the Smoky National Park, I noticed I didn't have my ring on. I immediately called the resort from my cell.. it was not yet 10 am and told them we'd be back in 1/2 hour to get the ring.... they said on the phone they'd have housekeeping bring it to the office. When we arrived, they said housekeeping had not found my ring and the ENTIRE room had been cleaned! We ripped apart vacuum bags and garbage bags.. no ring. I KNOW where I left my ring. I was very careful to leave it in the same place every night. We called before it was even check out time and they should not have even been in the cabin yet and they should definitely have waited for us to arrive before going in there. The resort is accepting NO BLAME at all! We think they should reimburse us.. the ring cost $1500.
I will continue to compain until there is some sort of justice. This is just BS. That ring is very special for many reasons. Yes, I should not have left it behind but I tried to retrieve it in less than an hour and it was GONE! We filed a police report but the resort never even had the police talk to their staff... they don't give a d**n. It's disgusting.
