The Rental Guide, Rental Guide BC The Rental Guide Steals content from free classifieds, charges $100 to view it, then spams those same sites daily with their own ads! Vancouver, Victoria British Columbia
Rental Guide is a huge rip-off! They steal housing listings from free classified sites like Craigslist, Kijiji, local newspapers and so on, dump them into a database, and charge apartment hunters $100 ($75 in Victoria BC) to search this database for a couple of months.
Rental Guide does NOT ask permission of any of the landlords and property management companies who originally posted the ads on free sites. That might not be illegal, but it's definitely unethical, and goes against the TOS of all the free classified sites they steal from.
Even worse, they then spam those SAME classified sites every single day with multiple ads telling people to use their service! When their ads are flagged down as spam and the community tells Rental Guide to stop spamming and take a hike, Rental Guide just posts MORE spam ads.
They call themselves "The Rental Professionals"... it's a complete joke. How this unethical, unprofessional company manages to sign up any customers is a mystery.
So, if you are looking for housing in either Vancouver or Victoria, don't bother with Rental Guide and their ridiculous "membership fee"... you can find all the same ads for free by yourself. Save your money!
