Thomas Toyota Of Joliet ripoff, purchased used car tried to bring it back on the same day and they said no and then spoke with mgr and he just said sorry bro in broken english and the director or claimed to me said the same and would not offer any help. Joliet Illinois
Purchased car December 6th, 2005
I purchased a car that was not the actual car I had in mind from Thomas Toyota and after I have driven the car to work I really felt I did not want the car and as I was looking at the interior I noticed cigarette burn hold and stains in the back seat.
I called that night telling them I no longer want this car and want to return the car. This man said here talk to "Tony" so he gets on the phone and asks what is wrong.
I tell him I first went to Thomas Toyota to purchase a black 2004 dodge neon sxt with only 19k miles. I ended up purchasing a different color car with more miles for a similar price.
He said I will have to talk to a manager the following day at 1:00 pm. I was right by the store on my way home and I did drive in and tell him I do not wish to have this car. I no longer want to have this car I am returning it.
He yells "Sir" which I have no idea why he had to address me like that when I was speaking to him in a low tone voice that no one could he but him when I walk in. I did see the actual sales person but he ran and hid in another room.
He told me I will have to come in and speak with a manager at 1:00 pm the following day in order to resolve the problem so I will not have bad credit. He told me I cannot leave the car there becuase it is now my property and after he said that I new I was stuck with this car and stuck with payments I am not going to be able to make.
I spoke with the manager and he said he can fix the interior and I said that is not the only problem I do not like the color or the car that I was pushed into and stated I am not satisfied and do not want this car. He said there is nothing I can do and had me speak with a director who did sound like the same person and had no sign of being who claimed to be.
I told him I will not have the money amount they are asking for and told him I felt pushed through the process and I am unhappy with the car and wish to return it and I did try on the same day.
He said I am sorry "bro" but if you cannot pay the money you will be prosecuted and you will have to deal with the police. All you have to do now is worry about getting the money you owe and hung up.
I was never shown any policies and they just pushed me through the deal, I told them I could not pay the fee they suggested and said they would lower it and still came out to be the same fee.
So I am acutally paying near the same price as if I paid for a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT. I have a used Dodge Neon 2002 SXT that I am not wishing to have and just lost a lot of money that I do not have and most likly will be sued soon.
