We have been with Tons of Rentals for over four years and they have recently dropped the ball on our account by neglecting to contact us in the designated 24 hours after our renters gave notice of their impending move. They did not contact us for almost fifteen days. Soon after, they neglected to contact us regarding change of utilities until the day before our utilities were to be cut off. We were to be charged an additional $350 from the gas company because of their negligence.

When I called to talk with our representative, Ashley, she became so angry she yelled and hung up the phone. I called back only to hear her say that her phone had died at 8:00 in the morning. When I expressed our desire to forego a rental opportunity she threatened to remove us from their business and later blocked me from being able to contact her. In numerous e-mails when I tried writing her for updated pictures of our property, she either ignored my request or changed the subject. When I finally did receive the move out pictures they were blurred and limited in number (about 12 compared with more than 30 as is customary). Due to their lack of service, lack of attention to detail and lack of concern owners, we are out a minimum of $600 or more since our property will now be listed during the holiday season. In the past it listed and rented within a week or two at the most. 

I called one of the owners to discuss a fair negotiation for the loss of rental income and he assured me we would not get it. He also said that he would not require the previous renters to pay for the removal of a sizeable oil stain in the driveway that they left along with a hole in the dining room wall. He called this normal wear and tear on the house and said that he and his parter were the ones who decided what was considered "normal wear and tear". During the course of the conversation, he did not indicate in any way that he was willing to pay the lost rental fees to our family and instead lost his temper and began to yell on the phone. 

Please be careful if you are thinking of using this rental agency. There is little communication, slow return of calls and delays in the maintenance requests that are sometimes up to a week. Mostly, they seem to be money driven, and their interest in protecting the property of owners and supporting them in custormer service is weak to say the least.

 Once again Tons of Rentals has not showed honesty and integrity. We contacted them on Tuesday 11-10 to request termination of our contract, to which they agreed. However, they refused to perform necessary repairs as per our contract, stating they would be the ones to determine damage. They also refused us entrance to our house foe a cleaning crew and later said that was a miscommunication. I have filed with the BBB and hope the public will be aware before entrusting their property with this agency.

Tonsofrentals.com has been providing professional property management services to thousands of satisfied owners for the past thirty years.  We work hard to ensure effective communications with our clients and customers.  There are times when, as best we try, a misperception can escalate into unfounded accusations.  In those cases tonsofrentals.com must occasionally make the difficult decision to terminate relationships that become unproductive. 

Unfortunately the accusations in this post do not accurately represent the facts.  We are sorry for this.
