A year ago i was shopping for a computer for school, i was sold a supposed brand-new to the market computer.  It was apperantly so new that the only way to get a spare battery was to order it directly from Toshiba, so no problem I went ahead and ordered it.  Less than a year later the battery which came with the computer would not hold a full charge (i know that batteries will loose charge over time but in less than a year, please).  I attempted to go through their warrenty program and was told if i wanted them to replace the battery that i was going to have to send the entire computer away (thus ending my education).  I went back to my school to try and figure out what i should do and was told to forget the warranty we would just buy a new one.



I called 'Shop Toshiba' to find out the price of a new battery and was given the full price and was told there would be no problem getting me a new battery.  Two weeks later i received the bursery and went online to place the order.  The next day i receive a call saying that there is no availability and that i would need to call this completely different company and they would have the battery i needed.



I was frusterated by having to order it from this other company, but figured if i could get it then fine at least id have the battery.  Then i find out that they have jacked up the price and charge a shipping fee.  A little more frusterated but still thinking that fine at least i get the battery.  after the order is put through and i ask how long to ship they tell me they aren't sure because, they are going to order it direct from Toshiba....the place that just said they no longer manufacture or keep an inventory of them.



Pritty strange that Toshiba can have the battery available to this other company that is charging Toshiba customers extra money for parts that if Toshiba has in stock but is refusing to sell to its own customers. Bad Business.



For anyone considering buying a Toshiba product, think twice before buying, thier products malfunction, their wartenty program sucks and their customer service is a Joke.  Dont fall for their sales pitch, once they have your money their services run for the hills.
