Total Warranty services Did not pay gap insurance West Palm Beach Florida
We purchased gap insurance on our car when we bought it. 11 month into a 72 month car loan the car was totaled. We owed $17,458.71 our insurance paid $15,463.95 0n around 01/05/2018 we get a statement from our linder TD Auto Finance saying total amount due is 0. We received no other letters or statements from TD finance so we thought everything was paid off and that we were all through with that loan. We even went out and bought a new car. On or about Aug 9th 2018 we recevied a collection notice saying we owe $2063.34. We got a hold of Total Warranty Services (TWS) and they said it was just a mix up in the filing of the insurance and that it woud be taken care of in about a week or so. We explaned that we were in the process of buying a home and that we can't have any negative things on our credit. We were told that if we go a head and pay it that they would refund us. So we paid it. When my wife called them back today they said they were only going to pay us $78 and that they were not paying the differance.
