I recieved a phone call from one of Transport Services' sales representatives who asked if my car had been picked up yet by the company i had previously hired and I explained that it had not. He said he was giving me industry secrets by telling me there were approximately 150 other vehicles on the same route that were of a much higher bid to be transported. This phone call and the documents to use this company after he persuaded me took place and were sent 3/24/11.
The sales representative promised me that the car would be picked up the following Monday or Tuesday (3/28/11 or 3/29/11) which I was fine with and that the vehicle would be delivered no later than that Friday (4/1/11). I had no problem with this original agreement since I thought that I could trust them since the other company I had begun with was not following through with their timeline at all, but that's a completely separate story.
It didn't take long before I recieved a phone call saying that the truck they had sent, one of their own carriers, had a maintenance issue and they would keep me posted, but it should be operational the next day. Apparently it was worse than they thought so the carrier would be down for another two weeks before it was operational again, so they found a local company in the meantime to try and fulfill their contract. The company they chose was a local company to the area the vehicle was to be picked up.
Now, after much more difficulty with trying to deal with what I thought was a simple transport the vehicle was finally picked up on Saturday (4/2/11) and was just delivered about 45 minutes ago Tuesday, 4/5/11 at 11:15 CST. The driver was extremely helpful and was very much a great part in the whole transport of the vehicle.
Alright so that's the story, now here's the financial issues with using this company... 1. They took a $200 deposit (the total was quoted at $800) minutes after making the reservation and receiving an order number. 2. After the vehicle was picked up, the driver said that I would owe him $800 cash even though I was told I would owe him $600. The reason that I was given when I called customer service was that the diesel fuel cost made the total go to an extra $200, which was in the contract, but they failed to contact me when the additional $200 was added.
I will certainly never use this company, or maybe any company, for the transport of a vehicle. It's just not worth the hassle that this industry causes. Another thing to be noted is that I never was contacted by customer service about my order, I always had to contact them. I thought this was obviously unprofessional, but also just rediculous. The Better Business Bureau gave this company an "F" rating and it is clear why. Here is a link to there BBB page...
