"As we approached the check-in counter we were not greeted in a friendly manner. The man simply stated what do you want. My wife Jessica Duran stated we were here to check-in. The man asked for I.D. and a credit card. Jessica asked him why he needed a credit card. He did not answer. She asked again stating our daughter had already paid through price-line, and he mumbled something about thats between you and price-line. She asked again and still no answer."
Issue #1 - We understand your daughter made the reservation on Priceline. What you fail to grasp is the fact that for the protection of your wife and daughter as well the person at the desk needs to determine two things. That Jessica is in fact the person checking in and that the credit card used belongs to Jessica. Take a step back and look at it this way---- someone goes on Priceline and makes a reservation using your credit card and/or identity. Don't you see that verifying the identity of the person making the room reservation is a way of preventing the fraudulent use of a credit card??
Issue #2 - The reservation between Priceline and your daughter is in truth an issue between your daughter and Priceline who is acting as a 3rd party in this whole deal. She did not make the reservations directly thru Travelodge. Did you know that sometimes that Priceline overbooks hotels and that making a reservation thru them does not even really guarantee you a room.
As for the rest of the info there are two sides to every story. I doubt very seriously Anal started off by calling you white trash. As far as his "What do you want" comment we don't know what transpired in the parking lot or what he thought he may have been observing. Clearly after 7 hours of traveling I am sure you and your wife were probably exhausted or maybe in a bad mood to begin with from something that happened on the road. Maybe that fed into the problem.

"Please read what I wrote and understand it. Price line had already taken the money on
another card."
A previous poster hit the nail on the head. You must not get out much. I cannot remember the last time I checked into a hotel and did not have to show a credit card. As was pointed out, this is taken in case you make other hotel related charges (i.e. phone, PPV movies, etc...). This is standard procedure at most hotels. Since it was Priceline that you paid, the hotel will not have any card info for you. If you don't like this, I recommend you start camping out, because it's going to happen at any decent hotel.
What really confuses me is that you've twice stated that Priceline will not refund you. First in the original post and then in your follow-up post. Yet, your original post clearly shows an email which states you are being refunded $65.73. So, I guess my question is, what are you babbling on about? If you're not going to be refunded, why would you post an email from Priceline that says you are being refunded?

I did read your complaint and you did not say you gave them the card. You just said you basically had a hissy fit because they asked for it.
Reread your complaint.

Well now he is a raciest, bigot, and a LIAR. I do
appreciate everyones opinion. In this country thank God we still have freedom
of speech. For those who did comment it is unfortunate that you did not read
the complaints from others who were victims of this crazy man. Throwing out
kids is unacceptable any where and this man will not listen to you. He instead
tells you to get out or he will call the police. As for the card it was for a
deposit. He is lying when he says it was for verification. Again please read!!
The price line receipts are included with the complaint, and when he asked for
the card we gave it to him. BUT he would not answer why he needed it. Please
read what I wrote and understand it. Price line had already taken the money on
another card. And lets remember this, we did not stay there, we were asked to
leave and we are not getting our money back from them or price line. If any of
you are having a problem seeing this for what it is, which is a scam, fine go
stay there. I have already said a business can be run however the owner wants
to. BUT racism will never be correct or acceptable to me. None of you see the
comment white trash as racism. You must be blind. So when this happened to
you please come here to complain so I can laugh at you!
And for the fool who said I did
not learn from 911, well let me tell you. When the day comes that I have to
call in advance to know what color skin is answering the phone or manages the
place, I truly hope I will be dead.

They ask for a credit card in case there are additional charges i.e. LD phone calls, movies, damage or whatever in addition to what the first responder mentioned..
Just give them the card and shut up, you were being a jerk and I would have thrown you out too. Also I'm sure you were being more disruptive than you are describing here.
It was a perfectly reasonable and common request. You must not get out much.
No ripoff!

What problem did you or your wife have producing the credit card with which you made the travel arrangements? Nothing wrong with verifying that the credit card used to make the reservation was the one being used. If you wanted to use a different credit card you probably could have or you could have kept it on the one you made the reservations with.
Judging by the name of the desk clerk I would say you have a problem people from the Middle East. Looks to me like the guy was amiable enough and authorized the refund. He could have been a total jerk and said no.
