TRS Recovery Services, Inc. Fraudulent Charges Houston Texas
TRS Recovery Services started sending me collection notices in December 2007 for an EFT Check Number 0 for $13.99 to Amazon. The reason was "Hold on funds in account". I called Amazon.com and was told that I don't have anything that was turned over to collection and that they don't ship anything until it has been paid for. I don't know of any other company called Amazon. Now TRS wants the $13.99 plus a $25.00 fee.
I have called the toll free number (888-905-3388) and all menu options point back to the main menu and pressing zero ends the call. I called the other number (713-567-0499) and was on hold for almost 45 minutes before I hung up. I can only guess that either they have so many complaints that the wait is ridiculously long or it is another tactic to avoid the consumer.
Incidentally, since I started receiving these letters, I have also been receiving 5 to 6 calls a day from an unknown caller who hangs up when I answer the phone.
