No, the person I had spoke with wasn't Beth, but it does seem that lieing and cheating people out of their money is a company wide policy for this institution. It disgusts me. I've paid back my grandmother, but I'm afraid that no matter how long I fight them I will never get the money back from the "school".

The online classes offered by UOP/Axia/WIU/Apollo are created with the intent to make the university money, nothing more. After weeks of emails and phone calls with the finance director of Apollo, I am finally back on track to finish my degree. This is after the university tried to take me for more than 3000 for two online classes that I never "physically" attended. Long-short, when I switched from onsite classes to online classes, the system "experienced technical difficulties". The only thing a person was able to see when attempting to post attendance for online classes was the button for posting attendance, but not the class you were posting for. I was taking 3 classes, one of which I completed, two of which I had thought were dropped by my academic advisor. To the original poster (if you still look at this thread) was the person you dealt with named Beth by any chance?

Completely unprofessional right??? I wish I would have recorded the conversation. My jaw dropped to the floor when she said it. Her name is Coleea, if of course she didnt lie about her name... a little ridiculous. oh and one more thing, I HAVE sent in requests for investigative consumer reports to NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, KCAL, and Will be sending a letter to the FTC today. I suggest that if you feel you have been scammed by anyone that you do the same. I'll keep you up to date.

'If you knew that there was a mistake, why would you pay?' and then topped it off with 'Go ahead and get a lawyer, you'll never win the case.' I would have loved to hear that on tape. Too bad. Back to reality, what did she really say?

It does anger me when they act like they are doing nothing wrong and your the crazy one for not just turning a blind eye to the fact that they are literally sponging you of THOUSANDS of dollars. They call you a liar, as if there aren't 2 million people out there calling in on the same day with the same complaint. Anytime I see an employee rebute a statement made on this site, and the ignorance that spills from their minds and on to these sites, it makes me think of the days when no one would even consider that the world was anything other than flat. Open your eyes! It happens all the time. The biggest problem isnt that they speak to me as if I'm stupid, and am just supposed to accept the fact that my grandmother will never again see that money. It's the fact that they do this to people who dont have the money in the first place. They exploit College students. Most of us eat mac and cheese for dinner only every other night; not because we think it's cool or because it's a new diet trend, rather, because with all of the expenses of college, living, gas, and emergencies, we can barely afford to keep anything around to eat. We just want to get by. But scam artists who make false promises, then take you for everything you have and then some, make it impossible. Going to college should be something that gets you further in life NOT something that causes you to go bankrupt before you ever even get to start your life. Anyone reading this string, I have started a group on myspace for uopvictims

Throughout this process, 1 out of 10, what would it be? You were feeling like you had been lied to right, given misinformation??? And how did the UOP respond, what was the tone? Like they were describing a set of new office furniture? I'm just suppossing here, but isn't this the most aggravating thing? Like you just want one person to say, yea, we lied, we know we lied...Don't you get tired of being talked to like you're stupid?
