We purchased the SAT prep stuff over the phone. ( They called us, naturally. ) When looking for the company online, they seemed legitimate, however, they are nothing more than a scam. I received the materials, but they were useless to me. We sent it back within 20 days and it hadn't been used. The UPC claims that there will be a full refund within 20 days of receiving the materials. They lied. The received on July, 9, 2012 and they have yet to refund the full purchase. In fact, I've contacted them numerous times and they have claimed that we will get refunded on our 'next' statement. We have had 3 statements come in since then with no refund to be seen. We will soon be contacting Discover.

Their billing policy: http://www.universityprepcenter.com/billing.php

Also, I have all emails between us saved. They promised we would have been refunded.

With further investigation I found that the original report filed was on the behalf of yourself, the minor..not one of your parents. My rebuttal was addressing your parents.

That is the great news.

As I stated before I am a passionate employee of UPC.

I thought my rebuttal was addressing your parents, and if a refund is due that will also be addressed.

The most important point, is that you are now a senior, and have missed out on many of the most important steps for getting funds for college, based on your scores.

Are you still serious about a 4 year university? If so, even as a senior we may still be able to give your family the finacial help.

Since you must now must be a senior, and have taken your tests, all we can do is find ways to match you with scores, GPA, and background (stuff you cannot do on your own by just investigation, internet, or asking counselors)

The program will have to be adjusted in price due to your grade and situation, however, if your parents agree, the guarantees will also be adjusted.

Whatever you were going though in the past..does not predict your future. If you are ready to commit, we are ready to help.

Call and leave your name along with one or both your parents in the message.

Let me rephrase that, "did you take any on-line live classes?" The 30 day review was for you to review, my point was, that you could be cheating your child out of many 'opportunities' to get high scores, and find grant funding. Why would you not at least fill out the profile and see how much funding for college your child qualified for? You could have done that the day it arrived, when your username and password activated the program. I got your point, you let software sit in a box, changed your mind, and lost your focus for understanding that it was to give your child a compeditive edge for preparing for the hardest tests that any high school student has to take in order to get into a 4 year college.

Im not sure why you would agree to try a product, and secure it on your card, and not USE it. There is no pleasing every consumer all the time with any product, and our return rate for dissatisfaction, and not reaching our point guarantees is almost non existent, too bad you didn't give your child the time to see success.
You asked for a refund under the guidelines of the 30 day review period, and returned the software, then you should revisit this matter and call our office. Also, your credit card company protects you, if you protest a charge, and can prove that you returned a product in time, your own credit card company will reverse the charges for you.

An "employee"

The product was never used. However, it was returned and no refund was given. That is the problem at hand. Also, I find it ironic that an "employee" of a test prep service can't use proper grammar.

Here we go again..I seem to be noticing a pattern to all these 'bad' reviews. Are they coming from employees of our compeditor? Where you really a one of our students? How was it a "scam?" How was is "Usless?" Did you download the software? Did you take the diagnotic test to get your results? What was the outcome of your consultation upon arrival of the program? Did you take an live classes? The purpose of this site is to educate other consumers as to why a product or service does not serve, or improve the quality of the consumers experience. How come our reviews on Merchant Circle are polar opposite from the one here?
