I own a small business and have UPS for the last several years. This company, even though their published rates are competitive to DHL and FED EX ground, will screw you with their ADJUSTMENT CHARGES...CONSEQUENTLY, YOU END UP PAYING 50-100% MORE THAN THEIR COMPETITORS. Case in point:1. Even though you print the correct address, they hit you with a 5.00 address correction charge......2. If you are paying by credit card, and if your card gets stolen, and the charge does not go through, UPS will run the same charge several times and charge you 10.00 per decline charge 3.If your box is over certain dimensions, they hit you with a 40.00 charge for oversized box charges 3. If your box does not conform to their specifications, they charge you 6.00 for additional handling 4. They hit you with a 2-5.00 residential delivery charge in addition to a area special delivery charge 5. They charge you up to 17.00 per week to come to your business to pick up your package...no other company does that 6. If you go to a UPS store to drop off your package, they will still charge you 17.00 if you charged the shipping charges to your account number 7. If you use a plastic box instead of a cardboard box, they hit you with a 10.00 Not standard box fee 8. If several shippers are shipping from the same warehouse, and if only one truck comes to pick up everyones goods, then each one is hit with a pick up charge of up to 17.00 per week 9.They reject most claims for damages stating that the goods were not packed properly....this is based on your customer throwing away all the packing material and returning the damaged goods in a different box 10. If you file a damage claim, they will insist that they want to examine the items, they will go to your customer, pick up the package, examine it, and deliver the damaged package back to you...then you get hit with a shipping re delivery charge even though it was their idea to pick up the package 11. Fuel adjustment charges are separate anywhere from 6-10% 12. They will bill you three months after you shipped a package claiming that this package was delivered but not billed...dont give much info, so you have to go through all your past bills to make sure its legit ...who has the time? 13. All packages are correctly weighed by our company, yet they claim that our packages were underweight and they bill you for additional weight....3.00 to 5.00 14. Even though we place labels on our packages, their machines damage or remove the address labels, UPS returns the packages to us and bills us for the return shipping 15. If you write to the CEO or President to complain, the letter gets sent to some idot in a regional office who calls you and does not do anything to reslove the complaint......dont write, they are not responsive BOTTOM LINE; DONT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE GREEDY AND THEIR SERVICE IS NOT THE BEST...MOST ADJUSTMENT CHARGES ARE THE RESULT OF THEIR DEFECTIVE COMPUTER SYSTEM..SOME ONE NEEDS TO SUE THESE BUMS ON BEHALF OF THE THOUSANDS OF COMPANIES THAT USE THEIR SERVICES...uSE DHL....you will save a bundle.
