I decided to finally start my application to become a US citizen after being a permanent resident for 24 years. I searched how to do it and I was directed to this site www us-immigration. com. I believed it was the official government website so I began to start the application. It asked for a payment of $199 to continue. I assumed it would go towards the total so I put in my Visa card info. Once it was complete I did not print it out or file it as I discovered I needed to renew my green card that had just expired. I called the help line to request a refund as I could not complete it and I was told I could also file my green card renewal online and they would refund me some money as I was doing both. I filled out my green card application and at the end I still had to print it out to mail in with another $450. I started to get slightly suspicious. I checked my bank and a charge for $199 and $170 was already processing. After much searching I found a number for homeland security and found out I could download the forms for free my applcations where straight forward and you cannot file them online. They informed me it had probably been a scam. I immediately called my bank so I am hoping they can get my money back. I contacted the company and I left a complaint with the BBB and the attorney general. I feel so stupid and violated. I wonder how many people who maybe seniors, have a complicated case or poor English skills that never real use they have been scammed. The worst part is google promotes them and homeland security knows about them
