I was looking for a nice quality male Maltese,  and I stumbled across Cindy Johnson's website ( Valley View Puppies).  The website looked like she was a responsible breeder and she emailed right back.  I saw that she had a 7 month old male Maltese available. The description  and the pictures looked like what I was looking for. She had all of the information about the puppy right there,  That he was out of her best dogs, birthdate, he would get no bigger than 5 lbs, how current the pictures were, etc. I did ask her was he still available,  she returned my email right away and replied yes he was and she would love for me to have him.  She never talked to me on the phone,  she just emailed me with an invoice, So she could get him shipped to me right away. Well I fell in the trap and I paid the money. So after that she didn't get back to me about shipping for around 3 days, so she did ship him. Now here is the scam,  when I went to the airport to pick up this less than 5lb puppy.  I was shocked This dog was huge. First of all the dog weighs around 10-12 pounds already not to mention the dog would not even let us touch him. He was snapping and barking at us. No socialization at all,  he had never walk on the ground or grass before.  His hair was stained yellow from urine and feces and matted. I could not believe it. How could this person be selling dogs like this and no one reported her.  I called her right away,  and told her that I was very unhappy and displeased.  She said he does weigh 5lbs. I said Cindy that is not true.  And further more he is in terrible condition,  not socialize and crazy temperament etc.  To make a long story short, she will not willing let me return (ship back at my expense) the dog and get a refund. So thank goodness I paid with paypal, so they are looking in to it.  So even if I don't win she will have to wait to get the money!!! I didn't sign any contracts or anything,  so if she tries to say I did she is lying.  But I am going to continue to fight for what is right.  If I am stuck with the dog I will have to give him to  animal welfare,  because I have children and this is not the proper family to work with a dog of that type. I do feel sorry for the dog!!!

The Buyer is the One Who Is Irresponsible. Cindy is VERY responsible and NOT a puppy mill.

This - again-is one of those irresponsible people who want purse size dogs no matter what the health costs, and so caught up on appearances that she msreads the dog's weight on the shipping paper. Cindy is not a puppy mill. She san amazing breeder who breedsfor character and I find it hard to believe that this dog had any actual temperament problems but rather, as animals usually are, was to tell that his new owner was a superficial you know what. I purchased two Yorkes from Cindy, one is 5 and the othe 4. They are both amazing. Sweet, smart, well-behaved and small as the breed sandard calls for. They are the best money I eve spent, and I'm upset that these ridiculous accusations are hurting avreputable breeder's business.

I just want everyone to know that this person would only email me with one or two line sentences and I have been warned about that as being a scam.  She said that she wanted the puppy but I had to ask her numerous times for her information so I could make flight arrangements - she would not give me her phone number and I had to email her again to ask for it so I could make the reservation.  He was a full grown puppy weighing 5 lbs.  In her emails to me she never once asked me about weight she only asked if she would receive full AKC registration. I told her yes and she said that she wanted him.  I sent her the paypal invoice and it took her 4 days to pay.  He was older and only used to me and my family and it takes more time for them to socialize with a new family - I felt so bad for him, I hope they were kind to him.  He really was a sweetheart.  The first phone call that I ever received from her was when I got home from my 4 hour trip from the airport statiing that he weighed 12 lbs I said no he weighed 5 lbs.  She said well it says right on this airline paper that he weighed 12 lbs.  I said that was the weight of the carrier, food, book and paperwork and the dog and the crate etc can weigh around 8 -10 lbs so the weight of the dog is not 12 lbs.  I told her to take him to the vet and have him weighed she refused.  She said that she would send him back at her expense and I told her that I would not be making the 4 hour trip to the airport again for a few weeks.  Since I had only been home for a short time, I was checking my puppies and about an hour later I came in to find that she had filed a dispute with paypal locking up my account.  I answered the paypal dispute and emailed her asking why she did that not even giving me a chance to figure out what t do.  Then she started saying that he was wild and mean etc etc.  He has just been examined by my Vet and was very friendly, I had a friend in the exam room with me and she verifyed that he did not have a mean bone in his body.  I felt that this person knew exactly what to say to make trouble.  The dog did not weigh 10 lbs!!!  Paypal's determined that I was not at fault and returned my money.  I feel that I was scammed by this gal.  I feel that she was trying to get paypal to refund her money and get me to allow her to ship him back COD or not ship him at all saying that she would and I would be out all the way around.  It was a very strange transaction from the very beginning.  I have a policy that I never ship a puppy until I talk to the person on the phone -- I did not do that this time and had a bad feeling the entire time.  I should have went with my gut.  Anyone who ships a puppy knows that the crate and puppy are weighed together.  I feel that I was being scammed.
