My husband and I went to Ventura Toyota in hopes of purchasing a car. We got as far as test driving a car and negotiating cost and payment plans. But towards the end I had a change of heart. Keep in mind we have not had the contract drawn up or signed ANY paper work.
I voiced my concerned to the car salesman who up in till that point was very nice. I apologized to him for taking up his time but that we would not be purchasing a car at this time. He got very angry, and let us know how he could have gone home at 6pm but he stayed with us! He wanted us to tell his manger because he wasn't.
I felt a little obligated to go and speak to his manager for they took the time to make a deal. By this point our nice salesman turned into a monster. He slammed down our file and stormed out of the office.
His manager wasn't too happy with his salesman's actions but also did not seem too surprised. I let him know that we wanted to leave and my husband asked that our I.D.'s be returned to us. The salesman had taken the photo copies but never returned them.
He called the salesman over loud speaker to return or call the office's extension. Both went unanswered. The manager ended up calling the salesman's personal phone. He asked where he had placed our property because he couldn't find them. The salesman played dumb and said he didn't have them and that he doesn't remember what he did with them.
I told the manager that we were not leaving without our I.D.'s and that some one has to take some responsibility. He was so bent on proving that his salesman was not the type of person to do something like that, and we probably had them on our person! We asked that he checked our belongings! He declined.
After on hour of waiting I called the local police department to file a report. Shortly after bringing it to the manager's attention that I had called he went back to his office, and came back stating he called the salesman one more time.
He comes and stands in front of my husband and I that the salesman found our I.D.'s in his personal vehicle!!!! Under the driver's seat. He mentioned to my husband that if we ever decided to go back that we would get the best deal!!!
After 2 hours of waiting a second sales man walks in with our I.D.'s in hand and states that the 1st salesman dropped these off for you. My husband asked why he had done it and not the other guy! So we walked away and the same salesman who handed us our I.D.'s yells out "Whatever" I went back and asked for his name. He was hesitant at first but gave me his business card!
We again proceeded to walk out not knowing we were being followed. The second salesman came out and asked if he had done something to us? I in turned told him that we heard what you said and we didn't appreciate it after what we went through! He denied saying anything except that he said, "Johnny is a P***Y," Johnny being the name of the 1st salesman! I couldn't believe all that we went through.
I am so sadden by the humiliation we were put through, we sat in their lobby for 2 hours with people not even wanting to make eye contact with us, let alone take some responsibility. I short the salesman stole our I.D.'s and now it's just a cover up!
I wouldn't recommend Ventura Toyota to my worst enemy.
DON'T WORRY, EVA! EVIDENCE FROM WITHIN TOYOTA WILL SOON BE ON THE WEB TO PROVE...
