I was a manager with Verizon for almost 20 years. I had a violent employee. Because I wanted to report him to corporate security, my boss, Susan McAdams, threatened to have me fired if I did. She did not want it on her record that she had a violent employee working for her. To make a long story short, the violence was finally brought out into the open and I was put on a leave of absence...they said for about 2 weeks. This turned out to be 10 months. At the end of 10 months, my boss' boss, Ken Clark, called to tell me that the company was going through a force reduction and that I was out of a job. This was obviously retaliation for reporting the violence. Verizon claims that it does not tolerate violence... year, right! Just like they don't ripoff customers!!!

I was told that I was eligible for rehire and I have applied for EVERY job available since my "layoff" in 2001 without hearing anything. I am being discriminated against for trying to uphold company policy and ethics. The company, however, used the force reduction to get me out (which is why they kept me out 10 months) so it looks like normal business practice!

Because of what Verizon, (Susan McAdams), did to me, my family still suffers financially. I cannot sue because the company used the force reduction to get me out.

Susan McAdams is now dead...God punished her for what she did. Lucky that He got to her first!

I have/had no recourse...could not sue....the company says I can be rehired but I am refused every job - even those I qualify for...they are unethical!

Why not go work for someone else?

First off I will say that's pretty wrong to mock the deceased, just because of your misfortune. secondly, I will say, if you were not accepted with any position with Verizon Wireless, then why wouldn't you just go work for another company, I mean there are more cell phone companies than just Verizon! I would've just moved on to another job. It's not Verizon's fault that your family is not financially stable. It's yours for not looking for something else. Even though it may have been wrong on Verizons part in every way, you should have moved on to something else, or another job with a different wireless carrier, while still trying to get some answers from Verizon. I mean, why would you want to be rehired by a company who cut you off?
