Re: Living Spaces

V.I.P. services claim # 2031615
On March 7th of 2016 I purchased a sofa from Living Spaces in Vista. I also purchased a warranty to have the sofa cleaned in the event of mishaps to the sofa. The warranty was purchased from V.I.P. at the time of purchase I was told that any attempts to clean the sofa by myself would void the warranty.
In 6 months my dogs, in an attempt to scratch their backs, rubbed their backs on the front of the sofa and cushions turning the sofa brown. The sofa is a royal blue color, the dirt on the front of the sofa is only noticeable when sunlight hits it.
All of the original documentation was sent to my tax preparer, for 2015, resulting in my having to duplicate all of the original paperwork in order to initiate the V.I.P. claim which was submitted to V.I.P. on October 15, 2016.
When the claim was reported to V.I.P., V.I.P> said that they would respond back to me via e-mail. They never responded back to me. Upon calling back V.I.P. I got a total run around, even hung up on. Was even told to go to Living Spaces website on how to clean the sofa myself, after being told that cleaning the sofa myself would void the warranty. I spoke with a person named Karen London, who was very rude wiyh me and said that she and V.I.P. services could not help me.
It is impossible to separate the seller, and the warranty company, because of their ability to (run you around in circles), resulting in the denial of my claim.
In speaking to Foly with Living Spaces in Buena, Ca. today, today I cancelled the warranty. This complaint with the BBB may not result in any improvement in my situation, but I felt that other customers of Living Spaces should be warned of the inability of V.I.P. warranty to fullfill their obligations.
Thank you BBB for still being their to listen to our complaints.
