Vonage Dishonest Billing after Cancellation of Service Nationwide
After signing on to Vonage, I discovered that the standard service did not work at all. In order for it to work I would required higher speed internet than available in my building. I cancelled the service but had to re-instate in order to have the business number transferred to Cablevision. My payments had been made automatically via my Business Debit Card and after cancelling the account and paying for the cancellation so that the same phone number could be transferred to my new serice provider, I tried to cancel on several occasions but was not able to conclude the cancellation. The personnel were trained to avoid bringing the transaction to an end. They kept trying to sell me how I had made a mistake to want to cancel and that the service was great. In my last telephone call I said unequivocally that I wanted my service cancelled and was told that it would be done. But it was a blatant lie.
Although my business telephone service has been with Cablevision ever since March of 2008, recently I noticed that Vonage continued to take money out of my Business Debit Card. When I called Vonage, I was told that the service was never cancelled. When I asked what service contract my business was I under, I was told that it was my business telephone number which was legally transferred by Vonage to Cablevision. When I complained about this dishonest billing, I was given the opportinity to cancel the service.
THIS IS PURE SHAM, STEALING MONEY IS HOW VONAGE STAYS IN BUSINESS.
