@anealysr - If the plan administrator doesn't read this website, you get screwed. There was NO "mistake." Any hint of consumer abuse/negligence/physical damage is pinned to the consumer and the claim is rejected.
When this happens - get your state's Division of Consumer Affairs and the BBB involved to exert pressure.
@pam - the plan does not guarantee in-home service. A lot of times service companies do pick up products to bring to their shops. On the other hand, the plan administrator makes agreements with service companies who accept THEIR fees. So you may not be getting the closest or most efficient servicer. Good luck. You generally have to abide by the terms of the service agreement. Ask for a different service solution from the plan administrator.

June 2009 we purchased a 42" Vizio HD TV with extended Protection Plan. We are in the first year of the extended warranty and our TV began to intermittently start by having a dark picture that eventually went to a black screen. After several minutes the picture would pop back in and then play for a while before going black again. The sound was always ok. Called warranty repair and they said when the part came in they would call to schedule a time to come to our home to repair the tv. They did come out but had the wrong part. The service protection plan states IN HOME REPAIR...but now they want to take the television with them. They said it would be 10 days for the part to come in and another couple of days to repair and return. Our's also turned out to need the screen replaced. We asked that since it was an intermittent problem for them to leave the TV until the part came in and then come pick it up. Since the repair facility was a couple hours drive away they said they could not justify another trip and if we did not allow them to take the TV we would be voiding our warranty. We reminded them the plan states we get IN HOME REPAIR...and that it was not our fault that they brought the wrong part to start with. Very dissatisfied with this situation...just hoping that it does get repaired. Will consider extended warranty through the manufacturer next time rather than In Store extended warranty.

Well I got the check just a few minutes ago. I guess you just need to speak to the right people. I guess now I'll go spend it at Walmart............ :)
I have to admit Leigh Ann Dennis was a pleasure to deal with. I guess this goes to prove if you don't get satisfaction talk to other people.

I got a call from NEW which it the company that handles the warranty for Walmart. The rep was very polite. She asked me to take pictures and send back to her. When I powered it up it still had vertical bars but the screen was cracked like something pointed hit it. I know it had to happen in shipping and she agreed with me.
I was told I will be reimbursed the full purchase price plus tax within 10 days. It has been 8 days now I haven't seen anything yet but she said she'll follow up to make sure I get it.
All in all dealing with her was a great experience but the first group was a horrible experience.
I'll keep all posted if I get reimbursed.

We'd like to help you have a better experience. So we can help you better, please email us your full name and the phone number with which you registered your plan to [email protected] so that we can look into your claim.
Thank you.

A TV warranty that doesn't cover the screen! That's like a jar warranty that doesn't cover the glass, a car warranty that doesn't cover the power train, driveway warranty that doesn't cover the asphalt. That's insane! Please post the text of your warranty terms here.

it would still seem like this should be covered. Sure sounds like a component failure.
Good luck.

If it was broken, most warranties do NOT cover that.
Carefully re-read your extended warranty to see if you were treated fairly.
