I have never spoken to a more forceful and pushy telemarketer as the person who called me to join the Homeworks Plus program. I continually told her I was not interested and she kept pushing to get me to agree to receive a $25 Wal-Mart gift certificate in the mail for trying the program.

I should have hung up on her, but instead I agreed to the trial program. I was careful to take down all the cancellation information and watched the calendar to make sure I cancelled before the 30 day trial was over. I started calling to cancel and each time was told their system was down and I would have to call back because they were unable to process my cancellation. I NEVER received the $25 gift certificate!

Finally I was able to process my cancellation, however some time had gone by and my credit card company had charged me late fees and finance charges for non payment. (I no longer use this card and so the only transactions on the card were related to Homeworks) The credit card company was nice enough to credit back all finance charges and late fees since Homeworks agreed to credit everything back. I thought I had solved the problem. However, Homeworks never issued the credit, and so again I got hit with late fees and finance charges on my credit card.

Again I called Homeworks. The agent (10271) said she would put in the request for her supervisor to take care of by the end of the day. Of course I was not going to accept this because why would I believe they were going to issue credit this time around? I insisted to speak to a supervisor. It was on hold for 35 minutes. Every 10 minutes or so the original agent would come on and say there was no supervisor available and she can just forward my request. Each time I refused. Finally I spoke to a supervisor and she agreed to credit my account. We will see, and I will update my posting appropriately.
