I was recently ripped off Feb 14, 2012. I had come back to Indy to drop my dog off and heading back to Terre Haute, where my grandfather was dying at Union Hospital. I pulled into the Speedway off Rockville and 465 to get gas on my way back out around 930pm. I pulled to close to the curb, after just putting air in my tires, bumped the curb and popped the tire (my fault). However, I had a spare in the trunk. I know how to change a tire. I looked around, totally exhausted and emotional from the day and watching someone that I love dying. This man from a big tow truck came up to me and said that I looked tired. I think i even had tears in my eyes. I said yes, told him what I was going through, and then told him that I was fine because I know how to change the tire. He started in on me about letting their company take care of this for me and that it would only cost 45.00. I kept saying no, but after his persistence and my emotional exhaustion, I finally said okay. He had to call another truck that didn't seem to be far away. The guy changed it, I paid by credit card and left.
As soon as I got onto the street, I felt a thumping thud, so I drove back to my house about a mile away. The spare wasn't even on the wheel correctly. This company had neglected to check to see that there was a seal. As result, this cost me 300.00 to fix their mistake. when I called to speak to the the supervisor, in which he became belligerent and used the "F" word. So, I called my credit card company to file a dispute. They needed to get him on the phone to try to resolve it, so the cc company called him in on a 3-way call. I told him immediately that this call was being monitored and recorded. The cc rep, asked me to recall the events and I did. This supervisor was just as nasty and belligerent on the phone with myself and the cc company. He said tough luck and they would not refund my money. He said it was my fault and that I should have put more air in the spare, which looked fine to me when they finished changing to the spare. I had to call another tower, have my card towed and fixed by two good companies (hannah's towing and Pompe's), which I recommend. They were very helpful and noted that the person who changed the tire did not properly put the spare on. This cost me so much additional money, while also dealing with the death of one on my only living relatives. I am 37, only child and lost both parents when I was younger. I feel Zores is a nasty, unethical company that preys on people.
Later that week, I drove into my parking lot to see they had trolled my complex and put towing stickers on several cars for "flat tires" or stating the car had to be moved to another space to avoid being towed. I feel that they used my address, to prey on my neighbors
