You are completely entitled to your impressions of a product. However, I would of left it at that had you not said that eMachines were no longer selling their computers. Plus the other incorrect statements you made. I also read all consumer magazines you can name including reports on computers. The choice is - pay more for a "better" computer and get crappy customer service or, pay less and get crappy service. No matter how you look at it, customer service just sucks today.
Seeing as you were informed about the poor product you bought plus the bad customer service, why did you go ahead and buy it then? I can assure you that a search on Ripoff Report will turn up as many complaints about other "better" computer manufacturers.

I am sure you have heard the saying that a first impression is a lasting impression.. Read consumer reports. Gateway and emachine have the lowest customer satisfaction rating of all computer manufactures. They also have the lowest customer support rating...It is what it is...junk.

I just don't know what to think.
You say - "eMachines (the ones you could buy at walmart a couple of years ago and now you cant. Well E machine was sued due to inferior products."
Walmart and many others still sell eMachine, Gateway and, Acer computers. For your information, Acer took over eMachine and Gateway. The fact that you can go to their websites and order them would mean they are still in business. Best Buy also sells them.
In my family there are 2 eMachine laptops, 1 eMachine desktop - 6 years old - no problems, one Acer laptop and, one Gateway laptop. All have been working without any problem. I don't claim they are the best but are value for money. I'm busy typing this on an eMachine laptop I bought a few months ago from Walmart. I have never had a problem.
As to your complaint that the hard drive only lasted for 13 months well, that's just tough luck. It can happen on any computer. I doubt if any other company would have replaced it under warranty.
