I received a text message offering me discounted health insurance because I am a Realtor. I called their telephone number and asked if this salesperson knows it's illegal to text people for business purposes on an unsolicited basis. They did not know this. I asked for the name of the supervisor. They would not provide it. They don't seem to care that they are breaking the law!
Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
"Under the TCPA, businesses may not send messages to consumers without their consent. Even if an individual provides their phone number or has a long-standing relationship with the business, the company cannot text the individual if they have not granted written consent." May 11, 2021
