My husband and I wanted to trade our 1997 Ford Expedition for a newer car of some sort. We have another nicer car, but needed to replace the 1997 Ford Expedition. So we started searching the internet for decent used cars and found a Mercedes at 1and2 Automotive, LLC that we wanted to look at on May 28th around 5:30 pm. So we drove to 1and2 Automotive to look at the Mercedes and a salesman named Bob Shoemaker took us out to look at it. He seemed so honest and friendly because he said he wouldn't sell that Mercedes to anyone because it was junk. He said he wanted to be able to sleep at night. So, he showed us a few cars and finally he said he had the perfect car for us! A 2001 BMW X5, SUV, which was in good shape from the outside! So we drove it around for a few minutes. My husband asked Bob what the loud whining sound was as we accelerated, which of course not normal. Bob said, "Let me call my girlfriend, she's a BMW tech." He got off the phone in just a second or two and said that his girlfriend said it was just the fuel injection economical gas saving system and that it's a normal sound. Bob would NOT allow us to take the car to a dealer to have it inspected before we purchased the vehicle. Bob said we would have to get an inspector to come to the lot to check out the vehicle. He even gave us the name of the business where his girlfriend works, which BTW does not exist. He said it was Foreign Auto Werks in Addison. We decided to take it to her on Saturday to have her inspect the vehicle. There's no such business in Addison, which we found out the next day after we purchased the piece of junk. Gene called Bob to get her number and address. Bob said he would call Gene right back with her number, but he never called back.
The night we bought the vehicle, he rushed us to WalMart (since they closed by 8 pm) to get $6000.00 cash out of our account for money orders because he said they weren't set up for debit or credit cards because it had to be a cash payment. His office called to tell Bob to hurry back that they were ready to close their security gates, and our Expedition was inside the property. So, we went back to his office and he was rushing through the papers, not allowing us to read what we were signing. Plus, he added another $495 on to the original price which was an official document called "Buyer's Order," saying that the previous quote was just a ballpark and the new figures were the correct figures. Still, being friendly and with a straight face telling us what a deal we got. Yeah, we sure got a deal all right. We were gullible enough to believe Bob because he seemed to be nice and honest! He's a shark!
We took our BMW to a foreign automobile specialist in Lewisville to run a diagnostic and physically inspected the vehicle on Monday May 2nd. The following is what he found with the diagnostic.
1. The engine is leaking oil from the valve seals and the covers and oil filter housing adapter for sure and possibly other areas.
2. The suspension level sensor right front has had the wires pulled out of the sensor and the left front coding as well.
3. Air filter is very dirty, and all belts are cracked. The whining noise is from the differential or transmission gearing.
4. The following codes were pulled from the onboard computers 2d(BNK2converter), 12(O2 sensor bank2, BC(evap leak minor), 1a(multiple mixture adaption issues bank 1), 3e(several cylinder misfires) 33(misfires#5) 35(misfires #6) 36(misfires #6) ABS = 18(pulse sensor gear issues), ERHC =1)left right control sensor), 2 (right ride control sensor) and it has 4 mre in the cluster, 1 more in the light control module, 2 in the auto headlight aiming, the transmission is also leaking from around the axle shafts as well as other areas, left rear tire will need replacement soon as well as the alighment needs to be performed. The right rear tire is totally angled outwards.
5) The Suspension Level Inactive warning light is on permanently due to the fact shocks are gone and to replace just the shocks is around $3000, then in addition it would be $325 to reprogram the sensors. It can't be removed until the shocks are replaced and reset. Also, the service engine soon light is also is on and needs immediate attention.
The gentlemen at the foreign car repair said this auto would never pass inspection. To get this vehicle in running order would cost over $20,000 and that's just the part that showed up in the diagnostic, that doesn't include what else is wrong once he gets into the nitty gritty of opening up the power train and engine and all the other major components you cannot see via diagnostics which are required to make this vehicle safe to drive. Right now we cannot drive this vehicle because of too many serious issues. We have no stickers on the vehicle, or title at this time. We basically were under duress to sign the papers because they were waiting to close the gates. We did not have any time to read the papers.
My husband drove the piece of junk back to 1and2 Automotive yesterday (May 3rd) to get our money back, because of the misrepresentation from the beginning to the end of the purchase of the vehicle. Nobody would even consider it, basically telling us we signed the papers and the car is now ours. Another salesman said that their debit card system was down and we couldn't get money out of our bank account. Bob told us they weren't set up for any credit or debit card system. We can't drive this car anywhere because it will break down at just any given moment. So we are sitting here with a car we can't drive either legally or safely. We are two old people living on social security, but the people at 1and2 Automotive just do not care because they have their money and stuck us with a piece of crap that we can't drive.
If anyone can help us with this disaster please let us know.

What I don't understand is how you can allow anyone selling cars for you to sell a car that is unsafe to drive. Therefore I'm assuming that everyone at your dealership is unethical. Two different dealers told me do not drive on those tires. The left back tire could blowout at any given moment and we would not be able to hold the car on the road. We could possibly flip over, or cross the median or hurt someone. So you don't care if you kill people as long as you make the sale? We knew we were going to have some repairs, but we did not ever expect that the whole car was nothing but a piece of trash. How can you sell a car like that to someone? We aren't mechanics! I hope you guys sleep well at night!!! We were lied to from beginning to end! No wonder Bob wanted cash! So if someone sold that car to your mother wouldn't you be a little bit angry?

I don't know who you are, but apparently you fit right in with the crooked salesmen at 1and2 Automotive. We were told that we could NOT take the car out of the lot to have it inspected by anyone. So what were we to do - drive it out of the lot anyway with Bob running right behind us yelling stop??? Now that would be a comedy! Plus, Bob totally lied about his girlfriend being a BMW tech and that we could take the car to her for a diagnostic. The business does NOT even exist. Yes, we should not have purchased the car, but the serious issues should have been disclosed. We signed the papers after 8:00 pm while Bob was explaining what each paper said. Hurry hurry we have to get out of here. I hope everyone out there can read all this, because 1and2 Automotive may lose some customers, I hope. You do realize what goes around comes around! Right? What would you do if someone did this to your Mother? It's a shame that people take advantage of old people. I am 72 years old. I hope you all can sleep well at night!

So then...your husband notices a problem with this expensive to fix used car. They refuse to allow you guys to have the car inspected by your own mechanic. You agreed to have the car "inspected" by this girl friend of the salesman and you discover he lied to you about her business. You freely admit you didn't even bother to read what you were signing BEFORE you signed it. You buy this known money pit of a used car "As Is" and incredibly you have it inspected by your own mechanic AFTER the deal is done. Is this really the script for the next comedy movie? You then come here to cry and whine about how badly you were ripped off! Indeed you were ripped off and you participated in it by your perfect willingness to play doormat, sucker and chump. Quite obviously, your husband fits the bill perfectly as well!

We went to 1and2 Automotive on April 28, 2016, not May 28th.
