900 Direct76 Billed for calls we did not make Canoga Park California
Around the first of June I recieved a bill from 900 Direct for calls made on Sunday, May 23, 2004. What made it interesting was that the calls started at 6:18 and ended at 7:33 in the morning.
The total for the four calls came to $373.75. I remember that day well, because we were going to my daughter's house to celibrate my wife's birthday. At the time the calls were made, we were all sleeping. I called to protest the bill and they played a recording of a young male voice, that I did not recognize. They admitted that it was not my voice at that time and said that they would investgate and send a form to protest the charges. After waiting for three weeks, no form arrived so I called back. They then asked if there was anyone else living here. My son is staying with us, and they asked to speak to him. He took the phone and listened to the voice and naturaly did not recognize it. I beleive that this just to hear my son's voice.
The voice on their recording did not match my son's voice either, which they admitted. In a few days I recieved a letter from them stating that I had ten days to remit the $373.75, or I would be turned over to a collection agency. I spent the whole day, yesterday, on the phone trying to reach Erin Michaels, the Consumer Affairs Representative that had signed the demand letter. After six calls he would not take my call. I left my name and number, but he still would not call.
So far I have contacted our local DA's office, the Better Business Bureau, the State of California's Consumer Relations Dept and the PUC. If anyone has had any luck in dealing with these jerks, I would like to know how.
