A-1 Auto Transport ripoff, lied to, did not provide services paid for Carson City Nevada
I paid A1- Auto Transport to ship my car from Universal Chevrolet in Cleveland Georgia to my home in California with door to door service and they told me it would take 12 to 15 days.
Let me say that my car is a collector car and has only 8,500 miles on it. It is perfect. (or was).
My car was not delivered until almost a month later. During the shipping time I contacted A-1 numerous times and was told the car was on its way. When I contacted Universal Chevrolet I was informed that the car was not even picked up yet. Finally after two weeks or so the car was finally picked up but I found out that the car was driven from Cleveland to Atlanta Georgia, not transported as agreed and paid for, (approx. 120 miles). I wonder what happened to my car during those 120 miles.
When I recieved my car and washed it I discovered that it had some damage to it. Gary Barrs, the salesman who sold me the car told me that when the driver picked up the car, Gary made sure he inspected the car very carefully, but on the shipping papers it stated that it was to dark to inspect. Gary also questioned the driver about driving the car and not transporting it. The driver stated, "It is the only way to get it to Atlanta".
I filed a claim with A-1 and recieved a reply almost two months later stating that they do not wish to "participate" in the claim.
I then contacted the owner (supposedly) Tony Taylor. He was very non commital and said to write their company another letter with my complaint.
I will never do business with this company again and hope others will not either.
I have been lied to, cheated, and disrespected by A-1 Auto Transport.
