My name is Cheryl and tonight I was in court with Aron and A City Movers, I just got home. I read your internet letter last night about them and you are absolutely right. They are crooks and liars. I am so d**n mad at them. Let me tell you my story ......

In June 2000 I had them come to my house and take everything I owned to storage. It was in storage for just under 3 years, as I had moved to California. I hadn't intended it to be in storage so long but things happened in my life that it wasnt possible for me to have my things sent to California. Southen California was so expensive that I had to move back to Atlanta. Anyway, In those 3 years, they moved my stuff from the original warehouse to another one with out my knowledge. When I had them move my stuff into my new house, alot of it was missing and or broken. I had some very expensive artwork that is missing, a Lalique crystal figurine worth $1,000 is missing. At 60 cents per pound, I figure I would get about 30 cents for it. Furniture is missing, things that are very precious and sentimental to me are gone. My grandmothers Haviland China is gone (stolen). They ruined my new king size bed and many other large items.

However, they had another king size bed there that was new, still in the wrapper that they said belonged to someone else and they were going to sell it. So, they let me have that. That is the ONLY decent thing they did. They "misplaced" my side by side refrigerator for several days. I kept getting the run around from Aron. He didnt care.

He told me that when they moved from one warehouse to another, the dispatcher didnt pay attention to things and things went missing. I failed to take out extra insurance, as they didnt tell me about it. I was going through a divorce at the time and was not thinking clearly. So now I get 60 cents per pound on what I have lost. Tonight in Magistrates Court, Aron and Daniel ( his flunky) lied their heads off to the judge. No decision was made tonight by the judge, we are going back to court in 45 days. Now I must get a lawyer, that I cant afford, to help me fight these crooks.

I am NOT going to let them get away with this. I dont know what to do. I also got the poop on them throught the Better Business Bureau here in Atlanta. In the last 3 years, they have had 28 complaints filed against them. In the last year they have had 8. What does that tell you? I made a list of all the things that I could remember of what I had and what it would cost to replace them. It came to over $9,500.00. I dont know what to do.

I think that someone from the company helped themselves to my things. Im just sick over this. I can never replace what they have taken from me. What is so bad is that I cant prove I had all that stuff that is missing. Although I have some pictures that I took a long time ago of many of the items. I was also ripped off when the driver came to deliver some of my things. They quoted me $700.00 to deliver and when they got to my house the driver wanted $1,100.00. Of course I had to pay or I wouldn't get my stuff. It is my burden to prove that I had all the stuff I say I had. I am NOT going to let this go. But I cant afford to fight them. I dont know what Im going to do. If I can help any of you in any way to fight them, please dont hesitate to let me know.

Evident Cheryl dose not remember that she recieved her shipment out of the kindness of the President's (Aaron) heart. I find it really disgusting when someone who writes over $1000.00 worth of bad checks, was late or never paid for her storage, and still owes the company in question can complain like this. First off, I personally recieved 10-15 phone calls since june 0f 2000 begging us not to auction her goods for failure to pay. I assured her that she would be notified if anything of this nature were going to take place. By the way, we have to this day never auctioned anybody's goods. Anyway in court when asked to provide any proof of so called $1000.00 statues she had no receipts(convenient) and when asked to provide proof of payment for her storage and services, same thing, nothing. So while alot of slanderous accusations and seedy speculation is at hand, there is no proof of anything accept A-City Movers delivered Cheryl's items nearly free of charge. In fact we are presently going to start litigattion against Cheryl for the bad checks since she decided to surprise us with a court notice. The reason the judge gave her 45 more days was to try and locate the so called evidence of her lost receipts. As far as the BBB is concerned, if you look at the other moving companies in Atlanta we are average as far as number of compliants. We also move around 3-4 thousand people per year, so 8 complaints out of 4000 moves isn't to shabby if you ask me.
