On December 20th, 2004, my wife and 2 year old daughter were in a small car accident where a teenager (with 3 months driver license) rear ended our Passat. Nonetheless, my wife was carefully waiting at a stop sign to merge into traffic when the young guy pushed her because he "though" she won't stop at the stop sign (driver's license rule 101, you stop at a stop sign)

Well , while there was little apparent damage to the Passat, due to the position of the stop and the intersection, my wife still received the impact of the collision at the neck level. As every normal person do, we want to see a chiropractic doctor for both girls. Our daughter was fine probably due to her young flexible bones while my wife had stretched muscle pain. From regular treatments for 2 1/2 months, she was back on track and our insurance Mercury advanced the $1000 for my wife per our contract and approx. $200 for my daughter. Keep in mind that our medical insurance doesn't cover chiropractor and X-Ray were made etc therefore the cost.

Well, now that the boring details are laid, let me tell you the purpose of this email. Even if we were victims, the insurance of the teenager, named AAA insurance treated us like if we were trying to cheat them, also liyng to them and were in just for the money. First they put dirt on us by saying that we were in for the money. They also said that $1300 on a car damage could not result on a $1000 body injury. We have a Passat, it is a tank! To make a $1300 on it, you need to ram it quite hard! Then they threat us by saying they will sue us if it is a fraudulent claim. Then they sarcastically told us that since it was a soft tissue injury, tough luck to prove it in court and anyway, jury in California and San Mateo county were always siding with the insurance company.

Since the beginning, we have just been asking AAA to pay for the car repair and medical bills and for the daycare hours ($5,50/hour for 9 hours) that my wife had to use for our daughter while in treatment. We never ever even asked for other amount of money since it looks just normal to get back to where we were on the morning of Dec. 20th.

Well, Mercury saw the medical record and paid the bills, AAA saw them and are trying to escape its responsibility by being nasty with the victims. They use a scale of $x material damage result in $x medical bill. If it doesn't fit the chart, you are therefore lying, cheating and trying to take advantage of them. The field liability generalist was also very nasty and never considered the human factor in all the discussions

We have heard that AAA is known for doing this all time to the victims of its clients but also to its clients themselves.

THEREFORE, WE PERSONALLY WON'T EVER AGAIN HOLD A AAA MEMBERSHIP OR USE THEM AS INSURANCE.

We are asking to all of you to do the same and pass this message along. If all of us carrying the AAA card don't renew, then we will have the satisfaction that the attitude of AAA costs them more than the $1,000 they were trying to save on our back.

You don't mess with a family! You don't mess with a 2 1/2 year old. I will fight for her and even if our claim was mostly ignore by the appeal board (as expected since they always side by the insurance) I bring now this matter to you, reader of the Bad Business Bureau. Pass this email to your friends and other family members. Let's boycott AAA!
