The front area of socalled gym is dark and unattended most times. Doors will be open, you go in but noone working there is at the desk or even in main area. Sometimes there are teenagers just sitting in the ring just hanging out. No business license or credentials of any kind are displayed, or max capacity sign. Often hard rap music with inappropriate lyrics will be playing loudly during kids/teen lesson times.
The self titled coach does not wear attire that sets him apart from anyone else, so unless you identify the deep voice barking orders, you don't know who he is. He socializes with some the moms (especially one particular mom) in a non-businesslike way. There are people in and out of the back "training areas." I've heard dog barking from the very back area.
When searching for this Coach Gus, little to nothing was found except busniess website and fb page, and a couple referrences to the gym on pages for fighters. There were a few mentions of fighters that have done well from there, but dates are kinda old, nothing recent. Also, nothing of the coach's training, fighting career, certifications, instructor licenses, et cetera. So all the qualifications he claims to have seem to be simply blowing smoke.
His attitude needs training. He's arrogant, self-worthy, closed minded, and seemingly self-serving. Often he can be heard swearing, using inappropriate language and gestures, or just being rude. While observing a children's class of about 6 students, only 2 parents were present, both were moms... all the kids were doing the same excersizes & movements, though it was obvious even to an untrained eye that the kids weren't all at the same level or have close to similar training time and/or experience.
Wasn't an assuring establishment, didn't put out confidence in the thought of training process. I did not have the feeling of "this is where I want to train because I know it'll be a good class and I know I'll succeed." The coach didn't greet anyone coming in, or even think to question me while I stood in the lobby, watching a class consisting of children... That should be one of the first things a proper instructor should notice and question! Not to mention the potential for a new client.
