I ordered a camera from Abe's of Maine. It did arrive on time but after opening the package and trying to understand the unclear instructions, I decided I had bought the wrong camera. I called Abe's of Maine regarding return. I was in my time frame of return which is a very short period of time. Less than a week???? I have never dealt with any business with this short of return policy.
At first I was told by a non-English speaking girl I could not return the camera. I asked to speak to a supervisor and received Sally on the phone. She wanted to do an exchange and I told her no, I would use the camera that I had.
I was hit with a 15% restocking fee which equaled $60 and was required to ship the camera back by U.P.S. insured. I could not ship through regular mail which would not have been as expensive. I asked Sally how much that would be for shipping and she said about $10. I packaged the camera and took it to U.P.S. and was charged $22.00!
I called and asked for Sally to return my call but have not received a return call. I don't expect I will.
I have shopped online for years and never, ever have I had such an experience.
$82.00 for nothing. for a $369.00 camera. :(
