They sold me a wrecked RV and lied saying it wasn't. I've had a professional confirm it was wrecked and they only attempted to repair it cosmetically. They or their warranty will not help, they will not answer my calls or complaint with the BBB. This place is a scam, selling lemons.

Mr.Fisher has made false claims that his camper was wrecked before he purchased it. We sold it new to the first owners 2 years before and did all service work on the camper. When they traded it in for a travel trailer, there was no damage. The original owner provided a statement that there had been no damage or repairs to the camper. Our records show there was not damage nor did we repair any damage to the camper before Mr. Fisher purchased it in May 2017.

At trade in the camper was inspected and qualified for the Pre-Owned Certified Route 66 Warranty for 120 days at no charge to Mr. Fisher. He has a copy of the paperwork he signed showing the 120 day warranty that was available to him to use anywhere in the U.S. He did not contact the warranty company until after his warranty expired in Sept. 2017 to file a complaint in October 2017. Mr. Fisher inspected the camper at the time of purchase and signed a statement indicating he accepts the camper and the condition and that there was no damage. He also signed a document for the warranty company stating he understood the warranty was only for 120 days and he did not want to purchase additional coverage.

Below is an email we sent him in back in October 2017.

Matt,

I tried to call you Saturday, before I left town, but missed you. When I got back in town today, I had a chance to read your e-mail and follow up on some of the items I started to look into before I left. Let me note the things about your Travel Lite that I have been able to verify so far;

1-I verified that our shop has never given an estimate for body repairs, nor have we completed any body work on your camper. Either for our sales dept after we took your Travel Lite in trade, or for the original owner, while they owned it.

2-I called the original owner and asked if there had been any body damage done to the camper while they owned it, that was repaired at any other body shop? They said there was no body damage that occurred to the camper while they owned it. They agreed to sign a statement to that effect for us.

3-I reviewed my notes from my appraisal of your camper, as well as the inspection notes from our technician who completed the Route 66 certified inspection. There were no notes on either form about body damage.

4-I reviewed our delivery tech’s customer sign off sheet that we have each customer sign after they complete their RV orientation. The final customer sign off states, “I have inspected the RV and have been instructed as to it’s proper use. I accept the cleanliness and condition of the RV and acknowledge that it is undamaged . . . . ”. There are no notes below about damage and you signed below the statement.

5-We have one picture that the delivery tech took of your camper on the day you took delivery. I checked with the person we hired to post our online ads. She said she may have a file of the pictures of the camper from the ad we listed online. If so, we can compare those pictures taken at, or just before delivery with the later pictures you sent.

Based on these facts, I am more confident than ever that the camper had no visible body damage at delivery. However, as I mentioned in my last e-mail, from the pictures you sent there are clearly some items that need to be corrected. There are seams out of alignment and wall joints that aren’t finished like we would expect. We sometimes see similar issues on brand new units that aren’t properly finished at the factory. I mention this because they can be various causes of this type of problem other than accidental damage.

This is my detailed response to your claims about our dealership. However, this doesn’t solve the problem of trying to workout a resolution that satisfies you. We would like to reach a win win resolution to these concerns that you will feel good about. Let me suggest a couple of possibilities I thought might be acceptable to you.

We have two new truck campers in stock that should fit your truck. One is a brand new 2018 Travel Lite 625SL with a full 12 month factory warranty. It has a retail price of $17,248, and our lowest internet special on that camper is $12,948. I would sell it to you for the same price of $10,999 plus tax and licensing that you paid for your used 2016 Travel Lite.

I also have a new 2017 Palomino SS 1240 pop up truck camper that has a retail price of $17,873 and will be advertised at $13,598 plus tax and license, that I would also sell it to you for the same $10,999. I can even arrange to get the camper you choose as far as Las Vegas for you to pick up at no shipping cost to you.

I also had some options to discuss with you for getting rid of your 2016 Travel Lite in a way that doesn’t require you to sell it. I hope one of these options will enable us to get you into a brand new camper that you will be happier with.

Mr. Fisher refused our offer and has since taken up the hobby of online harrassment. Every entity Mr. Fisher has complained to has closed the claim as baseless.

Here's some of the problems I have with RV dealerships.

1 most RV dealerships that I'm aware of do not do pre-delivery inspections before they put the coaches on the lot for sale.

2. Mini RV dealerships do not educate the public how explosive propane gas is in the safety precautions that all RV owners should take.

3. they do not show their customers how to check for leaks in the propane system.

4. they do not inform them what to do for the most part when they suspect leaks in the propane system.

5. Predelivery inspection is a very important but most RV dealerships like I said do not want to pay their RV technicians to do complete predelivery inspection to make sure the customers are buying something that has oh functions working properly before they put the coach on the lot for sale that should be one of their priorities.

6. customers do not understand when you're buying a brand new motorhome the Monroe leave law regarding MSRPs do not apply when it comes to the RV industry because they are not passenger vehicles.

7. be very careful when you go to an RV show and sale.  Most of the time you're going to get caught up in the sale and the excitement at the RV shows you're going to wind up paying way more than the coach is actually worth.

8. here's some information for people to plan to buy a motorhome and want a smoking deal.  The best place to buy a motorhome is RV storage facilities were people are paying a monthly fee to store their motorhomes because they can't keep them at the place that they live.  Those people are tired of paying the monthly rent for the RV storage of their motorhome that they can't keep their house and they're ready to get rid of it.
No sales tax. No documentation fees. And most of the time the people that sell these motorhomes don't know the true market value in those cases the person is planning on buying it is going to get a smoking deal.

 9. when you going to an RV dealership and you plan to buy a used motorhome good luck because most of the time again the RV dealerships do not want to pay RV technicians to do a complete thorough inspection to make sure everything works properly.

When you Plan to buy a motorhome of your choice not to sales reps choice it would be very smart for you to ask for predelivery inspection sheet it usually comes in several pages.  That's if the RV dealership actually does them.  Bring yourself an RV technician with you before you sign any documents have been kind a give you a basic walk-through looking for things that might be wrong with the coach if it's a use coach but remember don't you think it would be smart if an RV dealership would actually do a complete predelivery inspection to make sure everything works before they place it on the lot for sale ?????

Let me give you some numbers hear about the explosive capability of propane.
Let's say that you have 1 gallon of propane in a very small tank in a barbecue grill.  While the propane that 1 gallon of propane is inside the container it's in liquid form.   If the propane system has a leak that 1 gallon of propane will expand it 270 gallons of explosive vapor.   It's called the expansion rate.

Now let's say that you have an RV has a 35 gallon propane tank.  You have 35 liquid gallons of propane inside the tank when it's inside the tank under pressure.  Now let's say that that propane system that has 35 gallons in the tank has a leak in it that the RV dealership never found because they refused to pay their RV technician to do a complete LP gas system leak down test. If that 35 gallons of liquid propane in the tank leaks inside of the coach and outside because of a leak that was never detected the 35 gallons of liquid propane will expand the 9450 gallons of explosive vapor.   That is enough paper to blow that motorhome completely into pieces if for some reason it's ignited from a pilot light or a candle or a cigarette.

Now after reading the above paragraph don't you think that it's important that RV dealerships should do complete LP gas system checks for leaks and make sure that the LP gas regulator is not leaking and the LP gas regulator is operating at normal operating pressures. ???? I used to get hired by attorneys as an expert witness and testify in court after a customer bought a motorhome and had major issues that were not disclosed before the purchase. I know what I'm talking about because I used to own an RV repair a business and I seen some crazy things that RV dealerships would put on their lot for sale. Now do your homework every time before you buy a motorhome if you like what I have to say post a comment maybe I'll post even more information for you..
