Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
The Company Ace1 Advertising and Aquisitions is one of those employers who preys on desperation. About six months ago i was out of work, laid off and in trouble so I gave these guys a call. I called them up and asked them what the job description was and they said marketing for big companies in booths in malls and going place to place advertising and making a comission off of that, all the while being mysteriously vague with there answers...

The next day after answering a few simple questions like: Do you like flying all over Canada getting hotels and food costs covered by our company while you work for us. Naturally being a young guy, ambitious and bright eyed I thought yeah hey, I could do that! These folks will train me and fly me around, pay for my business expenses and make my life wonderful. But I got suckered! HARD.

My very first day, I walked up the inviting looking stairs into what looked like an Ikea furnished crack den. The next thing I knew I was off to the "field" with a portfolio of pictures of starved children in third world countries.

Proceeding my departure from the rough side of Downtown, I was carted into the upstanding middle class side of town with a few guys who looked and sounded about 10 steps from homeless smelling of last nights 26.oz. Now we get into the profit side of things...You go door to door with your portfolio of 3rd World children pitying or "pitching" there cases (sounding like you know what living there is like) to the people the company thinks has money in nice nieghborhoods. Sounds good right? The company makes the money by taking some off the cash or cheque you get from the sponser and skims a little off the top before it actually gets a chance to get to the kids. If this sounds good to you and you are really hurting for a job, GUARANTEED you will be hired if you go in there with a button up t-shirt from Zellers.

As far as the flying side of things go...Everybody piles into a company minivan and you sleep on the floor of ONE hotel room as your senior co-workers get the beds. You pay for your own food and perhaps some of the hotel room depending on if its a Super 8 drive in or a dive in the slums of wherever you go. No planes, jets, trains or even buses involved. You may even get the opportunity to be a passenger in a vehicle opporated by a driver with a suspended or even no license. That is also swept under the rug so dont even worry about it. No big deal. Anyway, if you're a good liar you can make some good coin but you may have a guilty concience at the end of the day taking money for starving kids.

To add on to my personal experience, there may be some fellas waiting for one of your co-workers to beat or threaten death, because he had slept with one of their girlfriends also employed by this stellar company.

Enjoy Ace1, they are a SUPER employer with a really nice website.

I pride myself in being an upstanding person, trying to never lie and when I read the first post about ACE 1, I thought to myself that this was hardly a fair observation.

I was given nothing but kind words and shown exactly on my second interview what was going to take place should I be offered and accept the job.

Everything they tell you is true and up front and nothing in the review of any kind was I given false information.

Although I hadn't worked for them very long, I thought that they had a high energy, very friendly attitude, and if I felt that I could have gone on to be a better, more productive member of their team, I would have loved to stay with them.

The work that they chose to do should be done by more people and if everyone thought like they did, I honestly believe that that company would be bigger and have more people.

Unfortunately it is not for everyone, including myself. The walking around that is done, especially in the winter time, you would need to have plenty of warm clothing and the right attitude to keep going.

If I could do it again in the spring or summer I would love to do it.

This company stands for a lot of things. Even though the area downtown is less than reputable, you're never without being near someone or having a friendly face around.

Conkiller's unjust point of view seemed as though he wanted all the benefits with never having to put in the effort. Shame on him.

As for the inside of the building, it may seem like it's a little on the rough side, but you won't be in there long enough to be picky about it. When saving the lives of children around the world should be more important than the inside of an office which you will never been in for very long anyway, I'd say it was very trivial. You will not contract any diseases and you're more than likely to not care about what it looks like in the first place.

I have a lot of respect for ACE 1. Please keep doing what you're doing. I just wish I could have been more of a contributing team member.

Ace 1 Advertising was a pleasant experience for myself. They were upfront about what they do, which is work with non profit organizations, they conduct marketing campaigns to acquire donations for various non profit organizations! What is so wrong with that!! Now if you people think that the owners of this company are running a scam you are absolutely wrong. The owners of this company are amazing people with huge hearts.

Employees within this company are treated with the up most respect. If they are doing their job and they are doing their job well the compensation and recognition are given. The prizes that employees can earn are amazing. I know for a fact that employees within this organization are well taken care of.

At the beginning of the starting to work for this company you are required to sign a contract, in the contract it states everything that these people seem to be complaining of, so perhaps the folks who wrote this could stand to spend a little more time in school learning how to read.

Everything that this company stands for is amazing, and they are legal about everything if you do not like something do not sign it. Everything is layed out in front of us employees before we sign into it.

So for the people who are thinking that ConKiller is right, I hope you find my post a little more informative. Ace 1 Advertising is just looking for people to stick with them. Its people who think they are to good to do charity work, people like ConKiller, that think of Ace 1 Advertising as a scam, and it is those people who deserve to be unemployed and un happy.

I am no longer with Ace but not because I did not have a pleasant experience, rather I learned a lot from the people that I worked with and I will remember my experience with Ace forever.

So dont let a couple of pissed of people ruin a good thing. Im telling you that yes the work is not the best, but they dont lie about what they do, and you are working for an amazing cause and I see nothing wrong with that!

So Enjoy Ace 1 Advertising, they ARE a super employer with really nice staff and a really good cause!

Ace 1 Advertising and Acquisitions Pro-Arguement

After finishing reading your complaints of Ace 1 Advertising and Aquisitions, I somewhat agreed with what you said in minor respect. I was employed with the company for the summer of '08, and although it wasn't the most glamorous of jobs in the world, it was a job that rewarded individuals for their hard work and recognized effort and performance in the office.

I agreed with the facts that you had to pay for your own food on roadtrips, some of the people you work with are sketchy, for sure, and the location of the office is very "crude" to say the least. Other than that, though, I do believe that this job was an awesome one and I enjoyed the experience. If you believe that you're stealing from starving children and from the rich people with wallets, let me assure you, you couldn't be more wrong. Eye to Eye Acquisitions is hired by Plan Canada and World Vision as a separate company from themselves. They are simply hired as a company with employees that can go door-2-door and go in the field advertising and advocating for the various companies. The contracts worked out between the two companies promise for reward through actual work. If you get more people to adopt a child from a 3rd, 4th or 5th world country then Plan Canada and World Vision know that Eye to Eye Acquisitions is doing their job- hence more money is given to distribute down the ladder to the employees.

Although this job was not my ideal career and never was, it was a job and an experience. I met some of the most career driven and overall awesome people while working with Ace 1. I did say I agreed with you due to the fact that there were some sketchy people working there but thats just a few people though.  I still talk to people that, like me, saw it as a job and did their job the best they could and were rewarded for it. They all went on to do other things such as attend university or other post-secondary institutions, another person actually completed a cross-continental bike marathon for a cure, another entered an internship program with another non door-2-door business company, etc. So suffice it to say, leave the characters of the people that work there out of this complaint unless you are targetting certain individuals.  In that case, this is not the website or place to leave complaints and should have been dealt with while you worked there.

I also read that you had a bad experience with your roadtrip and I'm very sorry to hear that happened to you while working on the job. You make it sound so much more worse than it probably really was. The roadtrips I took part in were fun and I had alot of fun with the people that I went with because I wasn't going with co-workers; I was going with friends. People, that to this day, I am still friends with and keep in touch with regularly. We went out and performed our jobs, worked hard, and at the end of the day, since we didn't have a heirarchy business relationship, we could comfortably all hang out in the hotel room and have a beer or two, hit the swimming pool at the hotel, go get a meal at a nice restaurant, or go and do something else fun together. Bad experiences at any job are bound to happen and I'm sure even Donald Trump had his bad days at the office every now and then.  Again, so sorry it happened to you.

Thank you for reading this and I hope that you do not slander the name of this business any more than you have already tried to and failed to do with your elementary school style of writing. There is no proof to back up your complaints, which are, really just sad and to be honest, pathetic. I'm sure the only thing that people received out of reading your report against a hard working company was a good laugh at your attempt at being somewhat funny.
