I ordered an inflatable belt for my lower back pain from Active Forever in early January 2011 for about $160. It was shipped on Jan 21 and I received it at end of Jan. After two weeks of trying, it did not help me. I called Active Forever 800-377-8033 on Feb 14, told them it did not work for me, and asked for return authorization number. Kalli (x134) said she had to call the manufacturer first. She called back and gave me the manufacturer’s phone number and asked me to call them. I called the manufacturer, and they told me that they would honor their 30 day return with full refund as printed on their shipping invoice to their customers, but because I purchased the merchandise from Active Forever and I paid Active Forever, I have to return the merchandise to Active Forever and get the refund from them. I tried to talk to Kalli and left her a message. I called again and talked to Maira (x185) Brian (x131), and they said my account was locked by Kalli and they could not help me. Meanwhile, Ms M from the manufacturer called me and said she was asked by her company to help me trouble shoot to get the device to work for me. I followed her instructions but was not able to get the device to work for me, and she concluded the merchandise was defective. Ms M told me to call Active Forever again, give them her name and extension number, and tell them that the device is defective. I called Kalli and left a message with all the details, but she did not call back. I called Active Forever again and this time Stephanie answered the phone. I explained to her all the details, including Ms M’s name and extension number, and ask her to refund me for their defective merchandise. Stephanie said this merchandise is for hygiene purpose and is not returnable even if it is defective and even if the manufacturer’s shipping invoice indicates a full refund in 30 days. She further said that almost all the merchandises Active Forever sells are for hygiene purpose and are not returnable, and “this is her last word”. I wonder if it is legal to sell defective merchandise? I would appreciate it if there is any reader who would advise me what to do. IneedHelp
