BAD BAD BAD
If you are seeking a very smart remodeling/ building contractor...with bad human, addictive-like and unprofessional behavior, Adam Harrington Carpentry.... is the contractor for you.
I met with Adam and his wife ...to review my highly detailed project: placing my architectural work and moldings I created for The White House, and Disney...into my apartment. He spent 2 hours reviewing the details of every project.
I agreed to pay his experienced carpenters rate of $60 per hour...and a younger carpenter at $55 per hour( $5 less that a highly skilled technician)
He stated at that time ..... that he would remain on site personally for 2-3 days...followed by another highly skilled carpenter .... the following week.....who was working on another project.
The following week however, he brought a 20 something year old unskilled carpenter...who was definitely not qualified to handle the upscale craftsmanship required. In addition....he did not show up for the first day on my job. In order not to waste my money, and my time.... I asked Adam to have his carpenter work on closets and walls...since he had no projects.
I watched the countless times he cut and recut everything he worked on. He began the black masonite panelling in my custom pantry. When I saw the young man working on the focal wall...I specifically asked ADAM.... to do the project personally...knowing full well of his carpenter's lack of skill
Adam did not follow my request. And as I anticipated. from my experience......he blew a hole in the center of the 4 x 8 Panel...using the wrong nail gun.... in the center of the room.
I went to Adam and we reviewed. It could not be repaired. In the meantime I had gone to his employee and asked .. to notify me in the future... of any damages he creates. Mistakes are human. But to find the mistake without being told..... is dishonest.
He explained that he had already informed Adam But Adam had failed to come to me....... until I found the error myself. Never once was there an apology from either person. Same carpenter also cut another piece of masonite for my kitchen cabinet. Ironically Adam did not review his work. It did not fit. I recut it
If it were Adam ...would he allow someone to continue working at his home........ who was dealing with invaluable and historical personal property? He would not. Because the carpenter he promised me.....was unavailable indefinitely...he supplied unqualified labor for this upscale project
On Friday of his first week on site...Adam arrived......I assumed to continue working. Despite that he had not returned my phone call the night before, he began screaming at me..... like a madman. RED FLAG
He told me that he had to determine a new schedule by Monday because he could not manage all the jobs that were going on. He never got back to me. He left the job incomplete
On his invoice ....there was a bill for $130 for.... 2 saw blades. He billed me for those blades...and removed them from my home. Immoral contractors bill without any authorization or prior discussion.
Since he walked out of my project and left what he started unfinished, I sent him a letter ....voiding his invoice. Everything he performed thus far..... was based on his experience and ideas ..... as to the construction and installation It is of no value to a new contractor
I would beware of trusting anything this contractor informs you. I have placed this review on over 10 websites.
