advance america david young while at work i received a call from David telling me a lawsuit was filed against me in california and asked if i had legal representation,he read me an affidavid and then asked how i wanted to settle Internet
on a tuesday morning while at work i was contacted by David,he said a lawsuit had been filed under my name and social security number he was very rude, repeatedly told me to stop talking and listen and he even hung up on me when i tried to question him.When he called back he told me a lawsuit was filed on behalf of advance america that i had to be in court on friday morning or a warrant would be issued for my arrest. When i told this man that i had never been outside of new england and that i had not had dealings with this company for more than 7 years he remained insistent that there was a debt.when i asked the amount it was not even close to the numbers i had ever dealt with this company,when i asked the date of this debt he said he could not provide that info when i was told what i was required to pay i asked him to mail me a written demand and legal proof of this debt he said that he could not,this would only be taken care of by an immediate payment by credit/debit over phone.I told the man that i did not believe him and asked him not to call again.it is now saturday morning and i have just received another call from a "David" same claim same message different voice.Is there any way to make this stop

They tried this on me. I tried telling them my rights under the FDCA. When they refused to comply with my request for a mailing address so I could send a request for validation of debt, I figured it was a scam, so contacted the states attorney general. When they called me again and asked for my lawyers number, I gave them the address and number of the state attorney generals office, and to the local FBI office as back up contact info. I tried blocking the numbers they had used, but they tried with other numbers. My last defense was irritating music. They were calling me several times a day. I had the most annoying song fire cued up on my computer. When they called I turned it on loud and set the phone on it and walked away. Took two days and no more contact from them.
