I was looking online for a loan one day and applied at a couple websites.
The next day I received an email from "Capital One Personal Loan" indicating that I was approved for a loan of $4500 with a repayment plan of $159/month for 36 months. In the email was an attachment of 2 items, the first was a prommissary note, the 2nd was the Loan Agreement.
I called the agent and he asked me to load $45 on a Prepaid Paypal Vissa Card and call him back. I did so, called him back and gave him the information from the card. He told me not to activate the card or else my funds wouldnt be deposited the next day.
Well, I went home and did further internet research and typed in the names on the letter and the only thing that came up was this rip off site with stories from other consumers about this exact same situation from these same names and same address and same phone number and same method of contact (email/internet).
So, I have in fact activated my card in my name and I am going to use it today to make sure all funds I placed on it are used by me. Furthermore I'm going to close my checking account as they have that information as well.
I am very HAPPY that I did further research. I researched the address only the first time and everything appeard legitimate. The second time I researched the names and the company and thats when this ripoff site appeared as the first link.
