My husband visited Allcare to replace the fake tooth that began to fall out of his mouth. He had this fake tooth since an accident in the 90s. When he entered Allcare, the tooth was in his hand. He explained that he wanted it repaired or similar recommended treatment. Allcare recommended an upper and lower partial, several fillings. This course of treatment took several mos to complete, given 4-5 last-minute cancellations on their part, a temporary partial (which kept us on the hook for return visits), an advanced cleaning (so that the partial would match) and addl work found in the visits. 10 months later, he still had the temp partial which was never comfortable, no matter how many times they trimmed and cut on it to "adjust the fit." Finally, we had it! We told them that we wanted an implant and they referred us to another dentist.
In Jan2009 and I was surprised to see that we had been billed for a Final partial, instead of the temporary device received, 3 extractions (2 of the teeth are still in his mouth today, & the 3rd was never in his month). When I spoke with the ofc mgr, he told me that the temp partial costs the same as the final and he did admit that they billed for 2 teeth that were not removed and he would correct that. He also stated that they removed the initial fake tooth, and I told him that they did absolutely no work on that fake tooth. It was in my husband's hand when he entered their ofc; not bleeding, hurting or anything -- that tooth and the root canal had been done 20 yrs ago. He would not remove the charges.
We are paying another provider for replacement of the initial tooth/problem out-of-pocket because the dental claims are in dispute and my coverage will not pay for addl work on this tooth.
Based on the number of similar complaints that I recently found on the OH Atty Gen [www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov], Ohio Better Business Bureau and other Complaint Sites (((Redacted))) against Allcare, this is outrageous!!! They continue to bill for services not provided and prey on consumers seeking dental advice and svcs. I would like to be refunded for the cost of the final partial and extractions. Im also requesting that my Dental Insurance Provider remove this provider from its network of providers. I have a level of trust in the list of Cigna network providers and this provider cannot be trusted.
